1983 JMC Shadow

Purchased this as a complete on here last week. Made a few changes using stuff I had on hand. A few more to come. Not digging the seat yet. Might go with a Kashimax MX I have (switched). Need some JMC bars and a set black grips. I’ll be switching  out the pedals soon. Going to need something blue to go with the hubs or get a different set of wheels altogether, who knows. Even though Weinmans are my favorites, just wasn’t feeling it on this one (went back to OG wheelset). Especially with the black hubs. Need some tires too. Anyhooo, I guess I can live with it for now. All OG finishes and decals...

Before and after shots:

Thanks Jody!

Re: 1983 JMC Shadow

Nice brother... I need to finish mine

As for seats the aero seat looks better... make it look like a race bike.  The other two seats make it look like a Sunday driver in my opinion wink

Re: 1983 JMC Shadow

Looks great, I'd go with the MX though as the elina appears ostentatious.

About to switch out. Not a chance I'd ever run that Elina on anything. Every time I see one, I want to puke. They do fetch some coin though!

Good job on the seat. Have you tried the Weinmann's as it sits now? The blue hubs (Sunshine?) just don't feel right.

Thanks. Funny thing is, that's what I've thinking about! Standby...

And yes, Sunshine hubs.

Re: 1983 JMC Shadow

Thanks Keith cool

Now I’m tempted to put some old school black knobbies on it.

Re: 1983 JMC Shadow

Your changes were perfect for that bike...

Please.....no Tuff Wheels on full on race bikes...original graphite’s only and pre 81
Let me guess you were factory sponsored in
the 80’s...
Please no colored tires on race bikes...
So how many years were you a Pro....
You knew a guy that had a Mongoose that weighed 12 pounds

Thanks. I found the original build to be odd. Nice, just odd.

See last couple of pictures. Swapped out the wheels, no more blue hubs. Now I just need some black grips.
