1985 SE Racing P.K. Ripper

1985 SE Racing PK Ripper How NOT to repowder coat a frame. This frame was sand belted down to nothing, welds were completely destroyed. The welds of a PK Ripper are nice and sharp, these are like butter, just blended and sanded to nothing. The frame and wheels are pre 1989, remainder is post 89 to present. The frame has been powder coated. One year (85) only with straight chainstays and non loop tail. The previous owner Bob, build it and owned it for 5yrs, he always wanted a PK as a kid(couldn't afford it), he raced a Profile from 82-91. I purchased this bike from Bob, this year in Feb 2019, I was the same as him, I always wanted one, but couldn't afford it either. I raced The Sting for a couple years then a GT for 3 more years (raced from the age of 12 to 17 y.o). The following text is from B Hays: This particular Old school 1985 SE Racing P.K. Ripper is claimed to be a diamond in the rough. PK Ripper only made this particular 1985 for one year only with the straight chainstays before changing it. Reason being is that this model caused problems with crank clearance when adding different upgraded cranks.
