BMX Magnum E.T. bike info needed

Hi all,

as a child I enjoyed my 'BMX Magnum E.T. bike' for years. Sadly it's no longer in my possession.
I am looking for the actual brand, year and type, so I can look for the same bike to re-purchase.

Could anyone help me with this? Thnx!

I remember it having 'E.T.' on the front blue foamy thing. This is me with my bike.

Looks like someone puts some Kuwahara decals on a department store bike.

Hi,

Maybe that's why I don't find any bike like it... Think the BMX MAGNUM sticker was on that frame? Frames with that sticker on it seem to always look a bit different.

Thnx

Koen

Must say: I remember buying it with my dad at a 'real' bikeshop. Not a supermarket at all, store still excists. (Belgium).

Very cool pic, hope some members can help you figure this out.  Loop tale with no chain guard tabs, looks like a quality bike for sure.  Very interested in knowing what this is.

Tensor Cycles - BMX Magnum from the 80's

Possibly Schauff as well. Those bars look like the Schauff BMX Turbo.

Certainly not a lot of info out there.

Re: BMX Magnum E.T. bike info needed

It helps to say in what country you bought the bike.   All E.T.  Bicycles in the US were made by Kuwahara.  Tensor made bikes in West Germany.  Perhaps no one had the E.T. Rights to Europe so it is possible Tensor made an E.T. Bike for the European market.  It was probably their regular bike with E.T. Pads and decals.  Your best bet is to find standard Tensor BMX bike from the 1980’s and buy some E.T. Decals. Good luck. If you find one, please post a photo for us to see.

Actually it looks like someone knocked-off a Peugeot dropout and welded it on upside-down wink

Re: BMX Magnum E.T. bike info needed

I think it was only probably made on the continent and not for sale in the UK.  The bike frames and parts were used by a few manufacturers to build budget bikes. Tensor sold the same frame in the UK as chrome BMX turbo CX88 version, search for it on here. Tensor also made the same Magnum decals bike but it had a different gusset, again on here to see.  Another make that used the frame was O'Brien.

Best bet is to find a Tensor or O'Brien and do a custom paint job with new decals and pads to recreate your old bike.
