For completed bike class - My bike is 99% complete, and may not be 100% by April 5th deadline for entry. However, it definitely will be complete by May 11th submission. Am I good to go, or would I have to submit into Museum and Entry as is by April 5th?

You’re good as long as the bike is done for the submission deadline.  If it’s not done yet, it could also be entered into one of the 3 build classes.

Well, it's a 29", so I think the completed class is the only one I can put it in.

Open class is fine, I meant to update that.

It would be good to see a Mid school class.  The last time we had one was in 2014.

Wow man, excellent job! I have to admit I was a tiny bit skeptical when I saw you first post this lol I love leaving stuff in survivor condition, but obviously that thing was beyond that, and this restore looks great.

So was I. I thought it was to far gone. I prefer a survivor but saving something from the junk yard is also cool

Breaking classes up by school is problematic for a variety of reasons which is why it's come down to functional class and stayed that way for a while now.  If we offered mid, then old and new would be needed as well.  If you leave it at that, then you have race/cruiser/freestyle all lumped together in nebulously defined "schools" which nobody agrees on anyway.  The last time this was really done properly, there were 6 overall classes which, frankly, is too much to manage and it dilutes each class a lot.  If we could get 100s or more people involved, it might be possible to make this more granular and hopefully this new "completed class" will help suck more people in to give us more options in the future.

True, unfortunately peeps are only interested  in bikes from the 80’s, I have seen guys building great mid and new school bikes for years and can’t even get a vote.

Re: THE 5TH ANNUAL BMXMUSEUM SPRING BUILD OFF RULES AND PROGRESS!!!!!!!

There's been some confusion on the new "All Bikes" class which is expected since it's brand spankin' new.  Here are some of the questions I've had in PM and the answers provided.

Q:  Can I submit a bike that's already in the museum?
A:  YES you can with the following requirements (1) Take FRESH pictures and update your bike in the museum with those. (2) Post these new pictures in the submission thread when they are posted. (3) Do NOT post a bike that has already been in a build off.  This is hard to police but be honest please but I'm also hoping everyone will report ones they've seen in build offs before just to keep it fair.

Q:  Does my bike need to look different than the original submission if it is already in the museum?
A:  NO, although see the prior question/answer.  The pictures needs to be FRESH and CLEAN and also please update your posted bike with these when taken.

Q:  If my bike is almost completed already, does it need to go in the "All Bikes" class?
A:  NO, if your bike is still in the build phase, you can and should enter it into one of the 3 build classes (RACE/OPEN/FREESTYLE).

The key to this year's build off is to be as inclusive as possible.  About the only things you CANNOT enter are non-BMX bikes or something that's already been in a build off.  If you can't decide what class to enter into, feel free to PM me and we can figure it out. cool

Also remember, 1 bike per class per member.  If you already entered a bike in RACE for example, it cannot also be entered in the "All Bikes" class as well.

Re: THE 5TH ANNUAL BMXMUSEUM SPRING BUILD OFF RULES AND PROGRESS!!!!!!!

I just got this TA done for, and here is a pic of it on display at, the Indiana Show & Swap along with my Bully:

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/201779/20190223_1240455c74286ea1.jpg

I started and completed the TA build last month, just missing this Build-Off. roll  But, since we now have this option for Any BMX, and I need to take nice outdoor pics, I figured may as well do the TA.  It was a toss-up which I wanted to enter for this BO but figured I'd go with the TA since was more recently done. cool

Thanks for taking over the reigns on this Jreid, nice to have the new category! smile

Thanks bro!  I can’t take all the credit for the new category.  In fact, it was entirety Rob’s idea as a separate event but we decided it would be fun to roll it into here to get more participation.

Got most of the decals on the frame of the CaveMaster a couple weeks back.  Still need to do the chain stays and forks.
