Yeah, a 24" or even a 20" would be better, but I still wouldn't pay $850 for either. Kind of pricey.

I just looked at their website. Apparently they made 24's (sold out) . I didnt even know this company was making a comeback till today

Think the 24 was a modern racer.

Yeah they still make modern race 24's.  I meant a retro style 24.

I like it, but I don't like made in Tiawan.  If this was sourced in the US, I would be on their website ordering one.  sad

If this was made in USA,the price would be like $1200 for this frameset.Nothing wrong with made in Taiwan, they make stuff that are just as good if not better.

Hutch is made in Taiwan... nice frame, I've seen a new one. BUT and big BUTt is that they are like $650 or something (chrome). I dont get this price point. I was kind of interested until I saw that final price.

Re: Thoughts on Race Inc. 26 re-issue?!

I like the idea of the retro 26 but the price is almost as much as a vintage RA24 frameset.  I would rather build a vintage bike for that price but that’s just me

How do folks know it is made in Taiwan?

I just saw, "Frame and fork set produced overseas".

Unless produced overseas meant made in Hawaii, most likely they are made in Taiwan.

Not that I'm in the market in any way, but if I were, I'd rather be patient and save my pennies for one of these.  Close enough, in my opinion.

So this is just an assumption?  I saw some people saying (on Facebook) that the framesets were made in China by the same company that produces SE Racing framesets.

Doubt they are going to sell enough(at that price), that this ever makes it into production.Be prepared to get your money back, if you pre order one.Why wouldn't you just have one of the us makers build you a custom f&f for less money-with better quality chrome-mo?

Race Inc needs to step in and make it known then who is making them. Because I think some would definitely question quality if from same factory that does SE stuff.

As responsive to communication as Bill Ryan of Supercross is,  I'd bet that he would produce such a kit here in the states either for less money or a comparable cost.  Just my thoughts, of course.

Bill is a straight up guy.
$379.95 gets someone a SK Tange Prestige 26" frame, out of a run of 115

Re: Thoughts on Race Inc. 26 re-issue?!

A Retro 24” in gold epoxy with white snap pads in a box set with chrome cruiser bars and a chrome seat post and a xcaliber style post clamp would pull 800 bucks from my pocket. That would be a truer testiment to the OG box set we got bitd.

They lost me at 26”, really lost me with just F/F for that cost.

And yes for those that didnt know, the current owner of the Race Inc name has been producing some damn nice modern race inc 20 and 24 inch frames for a few years now and also sponsers several riders. The bikes have some big event wins.

It was a guess, but if they actually are made in the same factory as all the SE products, people should just get their money back, not worth it.....shittiest quality control in the industry.

FBM is not what they use to be,go with another custom builder instead if you want quality.

Think the 24 was a modern racer.

Yep; the RA-16 (20") and RA-24 (24") were all new-school geometry, in fact my RA-16 shares several dimensions/specs with my Chase 3.0, and weren't really retro in any way outside of the name and decals.

What amazes me is that just a couple of years ago, the frames were made in the USA and sold for $495 (whether 20" or 24"); now the 26" frame and fork is made overseas and the going price is $850.  It's very cool and the box is a great bit of nostalgia, but I don't see a big demand, though maybe with a limited run of only 100 they'll sell out.
