Sometimes the little things make a world of difference, especially when it comes down to things like that. Just getting out of the hospital for a while is like a giant relief.

As for me, I’m going to return to work for 4-5 weeks and I plan on scheduling my surgery for June 24. He’ll be removing about 3-5 inches of my lower colon then 3-5 days in the hospital and I’ll be down on recovery for 6-8 weeks at home. The worst part is the pre-op checklist, so many little things to do before they’ll even cut me open. I’m trying to stay positive, the surgeon says it is a major surgery but it is a common one so all I can do is have faith in the guy. The wife says she is not going to leave my side and will be sleeping in the room with me. At least I won’t be alone.

Re: Lymphoma

Good to hear that you have got good support at home cool , and focus on work if you can in the meantime. Never had surgery myself (touch wood) so haven't had to put faith in someone who is cutting in to me, but hope for his sake he's all trained up lol
Are you going private or public,  sorry dont know how you medical system works?
All ours is govt funded through the tax system

It’s a public hospital I’m going to but the surgeon specializes in colorectal surgery. He’s been doing it for over 20 years and has done this surgery over 200 times from what he tells me. Unfortunately our healthcare system is trash, basically if you don’t have any kind of health insurance your paying for everything. And the doctors are crooks, I had one that came in the room, said the wrong thing for what was wrong with me and I knew what was going on with me. Told her what was REALLY wrong (basically correcting her) and never saw her again. She got paid $1200 to say the wrong thing to me...

Re: Lymphoma

Yeah, I can mis diagnose everyone if given the chance. Bet I could make millions doing that. I really should stop fixing cars and give it a shot at fixing people. Best part is even if I’m wrong I still get paid! lol

Re: Lymphoma

I had my surgery a week ago, they ended up removing the section of my colon that was perforated and during the surgery found a piece of small intestine was also perforated so took that out as well. I’m home and without a colostomy bag which is great! And my appetite has returned 100%. I’m out of work for the next 6-8 weeks which sucks but I’m healing just fine. I got 5 holes in my belly where they stuck cameras in and a 3 inch incision where they pulled it all out but pain is gone and I’m eating everything in sight lol lol
