1997 GT Vertigo

All OG except for the seat

I get in touch with this local guy who's all like: "Hey man, I got this real nice '87 GT Vertigo!  Come check it out!"
So, I go check it out.
"Uhm... sorry bro... this is a '97 serial, not an '87 bike."  (serial YC9706xxxx)
I show him my online reference.
"Are you sure, man?  I don't know, man.  I was told it's an '87.  You can't believe everything online."
"Whatever, bro.  Pretty sure that you're wrong, and that I'm right.  But, I'm digging the green/blue decals over that chrome, so I'll still take it... but not for anything near your asking price.  You get '97 bucks for a '97 bike."
And so it went.  Re-greased everything, added the 1 missing Tech77 lever, connected a new cable, and that was pretty much it.  This is actually a smooth rider.  Was considering replacing the tires/seat/grips/pedals/sprocket with neon green to match the decals.... thoughts?

Re: 1997 GT Vertigo

Leave it the way it was intended. So sick of seeing bikes color-bombed to match stickers or whatever. These bikes are cool the way they came, whether '87 or '97.

Re: 1997 GT Vertigo

Appreciate the suggestion, old-school. I'll do just that.
I have an extra set of era-correct GT pegs that I might slap on - might be the only change.
