Same here.

This is the one that got away for me. Mine had pin strip California lite pads on it. Awesome build man, great work.

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
I'm pretty much set on the chrome post. sorted out the power disc with a spacer.
I thought the silver on the black silver chain was kind of killing my chrome look. But after throwing on the chrome chain... black and silver seems better

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
on the seat post decal, the original one was chewed up so I cut all the blue off the coin part and left the GT. I did not want any blue on this build besides the nora cup coin
however I think it looks out of place. maybe a black GT coin to match my headtube badge.
anyone have one?
Also I think I want a black/yellow/RED padset instead of my black/yellow one. TRADE? or I would like to buy just a handle bar pad in really good condition
had to switch to a regular hutch clamp as the mini had a slightly larger hole and couldn't hold the seat post in place. not large enough for a regular shim

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
Against my intuition (having read the caption before seeing the pics), I prefer the black seat post.
It restores the symmetry of the color balance of not having a black-chrome fork.
This is really sharp build (regardless of my $0.02) and is extremely well-executed.

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
looks great all around. i like the chrome seat clamp matching the headset.
would think the bars with the gt decal would look better but if its getting covered by a pad set, then it is not important and dont matter.
would definitely work to get the stem hardware cleaned up or maybe as a last resort, replaced.
if you go with red pads, red pedals may also pop... or black but i agree that the silver pedals seem to be a let down.

LHD.
I was wondering when someone would point that out. This bike just displays better on that side
The GT decals on the hubs
GTs signature
Less wear in the black chrome
The GT BMX logo is much stronger on the seat
Is this wrong?
I was thinking about replacing the crank decals. then everything should be kosher, no?

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
I certainly does not display better with the sprocket on the wrong side. It displays like you put the sprocket on the wrong side

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
That ain't no LHD hub on the rear....
Anyhow, this thing looks fantastic! Here, let me fix your crank:
Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86. Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly. There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
I'd even go black caliper on the front, silver on the rear for brakes. Just my taste but I like certain things to pop instead of blending.

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
I really wasn’t feeling the silver shimano dx pedals. Tried on some Titrons to go with the disc and seat clamp
And a chrome ring. Better then black?
Chrome caliper added. Maybe a red set a brakes to make it pop
ILL SWITCH EVERYTHING BACK LATER TO RHD! geesh

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
I like the changes...killer build
Please.....no Tuff Wheels on full on race bikes...original graphite’s only and pre 81 and never on a cruiser for God’s sake
Let me guess you were factory sponsored in
the 80’s...
Please no colored tires on race bikes...
So how many years were you a Pro....
You knew a guy that had a Mongoose that weighed 12 pounds
What year did you mix it up with Stu?
Thinking about going 22”....do it...

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build
Looks great. I’m not even going to give you my opinion because what difference does it make, ok chrome post but you decided that already. I like black chain ring better but if you like silver then so do I. Great build, great choice of parts, very blazing. Subscribed for the final.
