GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build

So I bought a complete BLACK CHROME GT a few years ago.  It had some good parts but once I brought it home I found out that the fork was painted and the parts were well used.  I ended up selling almost everything but the frame and it has just sat here.

Well I took it out once and got it signed by MR. GT  at one of his shows.

Trying to build this 83' pro with 84' GT parts.  Like a frame that was upgraded a year later.  I feel like I have enough parts to put her together so here's some pics.

I think I like the black frame with everything else chrome.  do you like your fork, seat post or bars matching your frame?

Got stuck because I'm not sure what disc to use with my GT LARGE WINGED RING.   I have a chrome HUTCH power disc that I was going to use but I would have to drill out the drive bolt hole, as it is too small at the moment.

I'm also not set on the pedals.  I think black pedals might be better.

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build

I'm also not set on the pedals.  Black pedals might be a better fit.

The pad set is from its package but I think I'm only going to use the handle bar pad.

I know they're a bit vanilla, but xc's would work well with the black frame

Hell yeah....as a guy up a couple classes from me had Black Chrome frame and for and everything else chrome...was a killer looking bike

Please.....no Tuff Wheels on full on race bikes...original graphite’s only and pre 81 and never on a cruiser for God’s sake
Let me guess you were factory sponsored in
the 80’s...
Please no colored tires on race bikes...

Re: GT PRO BLACK CHROME --- build

Hard to say which looks better between the all black look and the black/chrome mix like yours. With the tires, stem and seat you have, it should be one of the raddest GT's in the country. I always wanted black frame, fork, bars and post but knew I would probably have to powder some chrome parts to have it. I got lucky and found all the parts in black and put a little gold on it along with the same tires you have but not in as good condition though. Can't wait to see it when you're done.

Chrome fork is totally cool
I like the chrome post
I would try black pedals but silver is fine. Just don't go too high end on the pedal selection because this build is all about the black chrome GT cool
Oh yeah, and I agree with not using the frame and stem pad because of my comment above. ^^^^^

Nice racer! Black post ties in nice with the frame, the silver seat guts and seat clamp. And silver pedal bodies with black cages would look dope imo.
