KAPPA ADIDAS - 5 OUT OF THE 45 TOGETHER!

I found these cool shots by chance, they are from a post from back in 2007 on a fashion blog based in Switzerland.

It din't give much info, all it said was "BMX from ADIDAS & KAPPA available@ ADIDAS Originals Store Marktgasse 5 Zürich. Uhhh i like…."

What this means is 5 of the 45 Kappa Adidas bikes were delivered to Adidas Switzerland!

This post was made on July 30th 2007, around four years after the bikes were made in 2003, so must be when the bikes had been taken off display at the stores across the country and sent back to the head office in Zurich. If the comment is correct, the 5 bikes were together again and 'available' - so Adidas Switzerland must have decided they had no need for the bikes as display items and offered them for sale.

I can't say I have seen any other photos of 5 Kappa Adidas together at the same time, it is very unlikely to happen again...

Enjoy!

There was one at the Adidas Store on South St in Philly Years ago..
I never liked the way it looked, especially the fork dropouts and didnt care to ask about it. I guess I should have to trade or flipped it .

This is one of the photo sets that made me aware that the bikes existed.  I first came across these photos in around 2011, which lit the fuse for me to begin my quest.

I hear you.  The stock parts aren't all that, which is why I ditched mine and put all sorts of aftermarket parts on.  I know her resale value is probably diminished because she's not stock anymore, but I don't really care.  I ride her enough to know that customizing her was the right move for me.

If a certain Michigan owner chimes in, arrangements could be made to get two of them together at either the Midwest Show or the Albe's party...

.02 is the value is in the frame / fork being original finish & decals.

In pretty much all other cases, E, I would agree with you.  However, I believe (and I may very well be wrong) that those who are looking for these tend to want one that is original and complete, appearing as it did when it was on display.  Remember that these bikes were built specifically for displays, and weren't intended to be sold to the public.  Sure, my frame, fork, and bars are still worth some coin, and I'm certain that there are some folks out there who would happily buy just the frame set, but I think a collector would rather have the OG complete.  I'm trying to think of other bikes that were built under identical or even similar circumstances, but I'm struggling.  The only ones that come to mind are the CW Cameretta Phase Ones and the GT Jeremy McGraths, but their circumstances were different.  Hell the McGrath wasn't even based on a high end frame set.

Might be the wrong idea here, but Journeys and Vans did a Haro complete that had the same back story, was used as a display and even predated the retros we have now. The decals are cool too, I’d give the remainder of my nuts for one of them lol

do not ask if any of my bikes are for sale. if it is not listed, it is not for sale...

Based on a overall collector value, bet your right. Folks like us focused on the BMX aspect might just base on what I mentioned.

Was surprised at all the various bicycle related promotions etc Adidas does just searching the web. None of course are as awesome, quality as the Kappa, but still cool none the less:

Re: KAPPA ADIDAS - 5 OUT OF THE 45 TOGETHER!

I'm really not into road bikes, but that third one is serious!  The freestyle bike pictured second to last is owned by a Museum member in the UK, but I don't recall his name.  Maybe dancetothedrummersbeat?

One of those kappa adidas was kicking around in the UK about 12 years ago, no idea who has it now.

Don't knock it till you try it. Looks like you got enough pairs, you could configure a soul wheel up front, and keep the spokes out back tongue
