The Speedwagons are discontinued, they were replaced by the Steel Panther frames.
Cruisers have not been done yet, although I am guessing with the 20 inchers released, the cruisers should follow along soon.

I'm in, that frame is crazy cool!  S&M has some of the best welds I've ever seen and the etching/engraving in the HT is so rad!

You can still get the Speedwagon through S&M's Custom Bike Shop, but make sure to have your wallet out, all customs start at $550.

I am 5'10" tall. My Speedwagon cruiser has a 22" top tube like yours.
Normally I'd go for the 21.5", but I got a really good deal on this frame new, so I went with it. I just used a shorter 49mm reach stem to compensate a bit (normally I run a 52-53mm).

Overall I tried set it up to ride very similar to my class race bike.

I'm not an oil slick fan.  I had a couple different things working in my head, but this is the way I went.  Keep in mind I'm an old school guy that was never fond of painted parts, anodized okay, painted not so much.

Chrome; Bars, Fork, Stem (was torn between chrome and black), Cranks, Rims and Seatpost
Black; Headset, Seat Clamp, Pedals, Brake Caliper and Lever (white print just happened to work out), Hubs, Seat, Tires and Grips
White; Brake Cable, and Donuts (just minor accents)
Knowing me, there is a high probability of this changing.  Stay tuned for the changes and sales that go along with those changes.

Thanks for the info.  I am 6'0" and in a 21.5" I tend to sit back on my seat.  I went with a 57mm which I may have gone a bit to far.  I have longer arms and prefer to ride with just the slightest bend in my elbows.  Hope it not too much.

I only plan on buying locally. If I purchased a frame at that price,I would be looking at paying almost double after the exchange, fees, duties taxes and all the other BS.

Re: What should I do?-The Build Thread!!! S&M

Got some more parts coming, mostly smalls.  Shimano Deore rear V brake in black, Deore lever in black, Odyssey Slick Cable in white, S&M XLT polished, and Odyssey integrated headset in black.  So much left to do.

Re: What should I do?-The Build Thread!!! S&M

Question for new or mid schoolers.  Do I go with a pivital seat for this bike or old fashioned railed?  Pivital seat have a hole in the top for mounting?  Keep in mind this frame excepts a 27.2mm post.

Re: What should I do?-The Build Thread!!! S&M

Do they even make 27.2 pivotal?

It's a race frame, right? then get a railed.

Re: What should I do?-The Build Thread!!! S&M

It's either one, I have a pivotal on my 20" and use the S&M pivotal post because they are just easier and cleaner looking. If I did run railed it would be a Thompson post and the reissued S&M slim seat.

S&M does.  This is new territory for me.  30mm clamp.  Is there advantage to pivital seats?  Can I change the angle and then length from the bars like a railed seat? The fixed screw looks like I have limited adjustments with pivital, but I don't know if this is true.  Help?

Re: What should I do?-The Build Thread!!! S&M

Pivotal allows for a large range of angle adjustment, you just cant adjust the length. To me pivotal is just a clean setup and they feel rock solid.

Thanks man.  It looks like the bolt goes through the seat and you can't adjust it.  I will learn much with this build.  I plan on getting an S&M Long Johnson Seatpost with an unknown seat seat as of yet.  I'll see how it goes.

Get a S&M seat so everything matches.

Re: What should I do?-The Build Thread!!! S&M

Yes the bolt is located inside the seat and you access it through a small rubber piece stitched on the seat. S&M makes some nice pivotal seats but your options are limitless because every company makes pivotals. Comfort wise I dont think the Tree Ergo seat can be beat.
