1983 Murray X16R
1983 Murray X16R
Correction: It’s a 1985.
Team Murray kids X16R. I called it a 1983 but very well could be a 1984. Purchased from member RL-20II Guy. The tires were shot and grips missing. I replaced the tires with generic Duro comp III style. Came with an Izumi chain but its too far gone. It has many original parts: Troxel yellow seat is faded. Pad set faded. Steel wheels with wald hubs and skip tooth chain ring. It has the taller Murray straight bars. Shimano brake. The original decals are a bit worn and faded. Still has the bike shop decal. It's not in bad shape overall and fairly rare. These were department store bikes and plentiful but not many survived. I got it as a back up small bike but even my kids can tell it's cheap and ugly. Any love for the old Murrays??
The bitterness of poor quality remains longer than the sweetness of a cheap price.
