Re: '78 Microline

Thanks guys.  That's a cool proline survivor.

When I got this bike i wanted to keep it in the survivor look with the added correct parts.

My brother got it in Montana for $30.  I bought it off him for $225 shipped.  Haha

Re: '78 Microline

yes. awesome.

can i get a favor?

would you measure the seat tube length for me?  say from center of BB to top of seat tube or maybe from center of BB to center or top tube.

also, is the serial on this on the head tube between top and bottom tubes or is it on the bb?

Re: '78 Microline

cool

Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

I'm glad you grabbed it,too. I appreciate and respect this bike, far more than a shiny, squeaky clean queen.
