1996 Fishbone Big Ass

Bought on ebay no reserve.  Paid about a bill.  No decals but I think it was a steal.

Not a lot to say at the moment.  Accumulating parts.  Have Nos UFO rotor, Big Ass cranks, Sushi bars, Fishbone grind disc, Nos Fishbone seat clamp.  Have the Dia Comp 990 brakes.  Everything else is going to have to be sourced and purchased.  Contemplating powdering frame and fork black because it appears no one has done it yet.  Threw some OG Primo cranks on with a Tiger stamped Tuff Neck 43T chain ring.  Mix matched multi colored mutt chain.  Currently running ‘97 GT wheelset, tech 77 levers
I still need to install most of everything.

Life is short.  Spend it!  Looking for: I will PAY top dollar for a Fishbone 1-1/8 X-UFO  detangler.  Also need Hevron Haro stem.  Have mid school goodness to trade also.

Re: 1996 Fishbone Big Ass

It's a mission to complete a big ass. Parts are available all over the world. A few guys on the Facebook page have helped me out and Dug6 from the museum may still have a bunch of fishbone stuff.
The chrome looks ok, it usually didn't last well on these bikes but what you have is good compared to a lot I've seen. The ninjas came out in black, I'd keep it all chrome, like most 90s mid bikes.

Good luck, you're off to a good start!

Re: 1996 Fishbone Big Ass

Thanks for feedback Brody.  I’ve since managed to locate and purchase all Fishbone brake plates, levers, seat post, and hubs.  I don’t care for the Fishbone seats and I don’t like the look of the Fishbone hoops so I’m having a Alex double wall set built instead.  Going to start assembly soon.  Oh crap, I even sourced decals from the UK.  My grind disc never made it from Portugal so ebay refunded that so that’s my last Fishbone part I am on the hunt for.  I joined the Fishbone Facebook page and got some feedback from them as well.  I might actually be buying another BigAss just for kicks.  Wish me luck
