Zero Tolerance (ZT) Knives - who has one?

Looking for a quality knife to purchase..
Stumbled across this brand.
They are not cheap....but apparently are over engineered (quality perspective) which translates into many, many, many years of use.

Who has one?
Are there other brands I should look at?

I like the ZT 0900

ZT knives @ $200-400!
yikes

budget is $100 or less....but would swing up to $150 for something of substance.
Can't see myself paying $300 for one...as I am not a first responder etc  (ZT markets their knives to Fireman, LE, rescuers, First Responders etc).
Will consider gently used too to save a few bucks.  *will check out ebay.

I don't have a quality "utility" knife...and always wanted one (not too small...and certainly not Rambo size either).

If that is your budget, look into Cold Steel knives, they will have something that fit your needs.I love the brand and have plenty from them.My everyday carry is the CS Luzon large.Just be carefull when it comes to ebay, alot of fakes are being sold from there.

Don't count out Emerson knives! They are 100% badass and even made in the USA,down to the screws and box they come in.

Re: Zero Tolerance (ZT) Knives - who has one?

For $95 IMHO you cannot beat the Cabelas edition Buck Alaskan Guide 110 folder ... S30v steel, ti-nitride coating, heirloom/lifetime quality, classic look, razor sharp, legendary brand that has super cheap knife sharpening services. I bought one in limited desert ironwood scales years ago and its my favorite. Plus if you are carrying it around or have in your vehicle, to a police officer it will not look "scary" laugh if you want but knife laws are all over the place in the US.

Now, if someone wants a real deal like the elite Bin Laden killers of the world carry the inside scoop is get a Winkler

Up here in Canada, there is no blade length law, long as it is not a automatic or gravity knife,I can carry a monster blade(which I do)and it is perfectly legal.

Re: Zero Tolerance (ZT) Knives - who has one?

That's cool Spyker. Down here in Indiana they are really tolerant as well. I can even have an automatic, no blade length worries, however they make a BIG deal here about Ninja throwing stars LOL

I agree Spyderco also good quality, have some under 100 which would be a great value. Also CRKT makes a bunch of great budget minded models that I wouldn't turn my nose up at.

Emerson also is another model that folks over in the sandbox and other nasty places use. They even did a collaboration with Kershaw (another quality brand) with a budget model of their close quarters combat 7 model.

Even though automatics are highly illegal here, you can still get them. The laws are messed up.I can carry a machete around no problem, but yet I can't carry a auto? There are ways to smuggle them into the country very easily.Next time I'm down in the USA,I will be bringing back a Microtech Halo.

CRKT makes some good cutlery,I have two of their offerings.....serrated and plain edge bear claws.Anything made by Emerson is of the highest quality, especially his custom made knives.

Ya well in Canada we don't have that kind of luxury,if we did,j would be carrying around a Desert Eagle 50cal.....gold plated of course.

That would be a heavy gun to tote around. My Glock 36 is as heavy as I want to carry.

This is my trusted baby I carried for many years including the 6 years that I repossessed houses in the Chicagoland area. Seeing a big white guy carrying his k-bar on his hip will give second thought before you mess with him. Luckily I never had to use it.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/82308/a1adec44-f28b-4b1b-9520-cf4aa40da43d5bf6faf206.jpeg
