Actually was busy grabbing the bike by the seatpost to keep it from going in all the way. Called it a day at that point.

I was just hoping you had a buddy there to help, because there would be pics lol

Beautiful builds all: I voted way high up for nearly every winner. I didn’t look at component list because I went strictly with the eye test and what was the most visually appealing.

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2019 BMXMUSEUM CALENDAR WINNERS!

I used a stand on rear peg and tried to hide it behind rear tuff spoke... didn't always work.  Also pebbles under tire to keep from rolling.

Here you can see fat post in first attempts. I then went to a skinny post

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2019 BMXMUSEUM CALENDAR WINNERS!

Someone should make a “bmx museum rejects” calendar, with the bottom 4 from each category lol

So what I’m having a hard time understanding is that this site and the members who belong to it are these purists, who used to frown down at the sight of any repop parts that were used on bikes a few years ago. So Now as time goes on the site has a yearly calendar build off and I watch every person race to get there bikes built in a timely fashion and using only the highest quality nos parts or survivor parts just so they could be as cutting edge by doing something so creative that their build sets them apart from the rest.
This year I saw some of the most creative builds come to the table and they didn’t even make the top 5. Now I heard the voting process was a issue for some and the fact that total amount of people voted this year was so low and it should have been higher.
So I ask everyone..: is this the way future build offs are going to go down by just slapping things together with what ever we have laying around and using a who gives a f—k attitude on the details like color correct parts , parts that don’t even belong on a freestyle bike, or vice versa. Now correct me if I’m wrong but when sports illustrated used to do their calendar they used the hottest woman from around the globe , not the plus size models from the corner store or Taco Bell . So I just figured that the calendar we do should have 12 of the baddest bikes ever built in it.
But if it’s going to have jigsaw built bikes then maybe it should be called the bargain basement build off.  I know I speak for many people out ther who choose to plead the fifth, but I’m not afraid to voice my opinion and yea I’m aware opinions are like ass—-es, everyone got one.

I have built with correct parts, repop parts and now a new school and never even placed. It's just what people like at that time I think. If I built a bike just to impress others and not for me. It would be time to just sell it all and get out. I'm just saying build for you and nobody else!!smile

Build your bikes the way you want. Always looking for 85/86 dyno but don't always have money for them.

How about a survivor/barn find/rider/beater/custom buildoff?

Working the details out on something like this now. Except it can't be a "Build off" if there is nothing being built. cool

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2019 BMXMUSEUM CALENDAR WINNERS!

Saw this thread a little late...on 11/7 but wanted to wait a bit after robs down under joke.

Congrats to everyone that entered in the 2019 Calendar Build Off. Even those that did not finish. Everyone should be proud of their entry/entries and hopefully everyone had fun...I know I did.
Only thing is that with all the hard work everyone endured it's a shame the low number of votes in each class.  With such a large membership the votes should have at least been in the 4 digits. Not just for this BO but the others in the past and those to come.  The numbers have probably never been that high in the vote count.  Maybe the admins can come up with something.  I did like mtbwrxwagon's logo ad he did last year.
I do like the '14, I think it was, and '15 classes; 4 of them....but I guess the amount of entries in a certain class can drop.  For example Survivor class.
Thanks to Gary and robk131313 for this years Cal. BO and looking forward for future build offs & hope they continue to grow.

Props to everyone's builds, it was a tough vote. Nice to see some different bikes and newer members build this year.
Bummed thst I didnt have time to enter this one, I'm looking forward to next year's build off.

On a selfish note, I was hoping JHARJO's Sabbath would've made the calendar. Holy crap that's an amazing build!
