1985 CW Racing California FreeStyle

Double coaster tabs. Early production frame, possibly an 84.

This is my second calendar build off bike. This bike was done In Memory of stash84, Stan Putnam. We lost our Brother in February of this year. This was the most recent frame I got my hands on, and he was excited about it for me being a nos frame. The only nos frame I've ever had. Early March I decided this would be built in his memory. Stan was a one of a kind guy. 100%, like we used to say. He sold me 3 of his bikes in the time I knew him. Those will remain in my collection always. Very rare of a man he was. I am honored to have had him in my life, if even for just a short time. Great guy who I will never forget, and I miss him. Especially when I ride one of his bikes.       Later in the year my dad passed away. Wow, couldn't believe it. More hard times. Then in August we lost my youngest daughter's mother. We were no longer together, but still remained good friends and a lot like family. So I had to make them a part of this memorial build. The orange awareness ribbon and yellow Zia symbol are for them.Hope you like it. I know it is no catalog build but I am very pleased how it came out.Thank you. P.S. : Last pic is most recent and 2nd to last pic is how I was going to enter it, then made last minute changes.*** Parts List ***Frame:           CW Racing California FreestyleFork:               KuwaharaHandle Bars: Colony Prody Kue Bar Stem:              CW Freestyle (sell_all_his_stuff)Rotor:              ACS Pro Rotor       (straiderz)Brake Levers: ACS TangentFront Brake:   Peregrine FSX-111                                                         (jamminj187)Rear Caliper:  Dia Comps 883 NipponBrake cables: Dia Compe 91Brake Pads:    Skyway Gunned    (300tour)Crank:              Harp Group 1 Single                                                     (decals-DIZCCO)Power Disc and Chain Ring: Tioga Bottom Bracket: TiogaPedals:           Shimano PD-MX20 (straiderz)Seat:               Velo Gripper             (ratsix66)Seat Post:      Peregrine Micro AdjustClamp: REWheel Set:     Mongoose Pro Class                                                            (Ruger101)Tires:              Chen Shin 20x1.75 survivors Valve Caps:   76 Gulf                       (Bosh)Special Thanks ToAll the above members for parts. Pics don't really do it justice. I had black panaracers on it before and it looked good that way to.

Re: 1985 CW Racing California FreeStyle

Great bike. I just recently acquired my first CW from my lifelong buddy and old bmx riding pal from the 70's and 80's. It's a repowdered, (got it that way), '87 Shaker. These bikes ride so nice and solid. I really think CW bikes are so underrated.

Thanks Spang, I appreciate your comments. I totally agree. I also have an 86 California Freestyle that is more correct.
Oh, Thanks for adding to your faves. :D

Put some CW bars I bought from another member, so thought I'd add a couple new pics. :D
Also have a new Rotor, not a pro rotor but it is silver with red lettering and will go on soon.

Re: 1985 CW Racing California FreeStyle

Figured I'd post it here to, but I am searching for a fork for this bike. CW with welded pegs. Bike has Kuwi on it now and found a frame for that so I need a fork for this one.
Thanks
