Oh what the hell...lets do this! Jayhawk 24" build thread.

Hey gents! Just purchased my 1st ever cruiser and due to the interest from a few folks around here to start a build thread I figured I should share the progress in the next few months.

I know there is the calendar build going on but time wasn't on my side to play so here we are. The builds going on there are off the hook and looking forward to all the builds and much props to all that are grinding away for the deadline.

Shout out to community member elfdoublecross for the sale of this project and all you have done the last few months...you rock brother!

Here's a few pics so far...will update as soon as the parts roll in the coming weeks. Enjoy! http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/248463/img_11325ba6be437a.jpg

Thank you - it's about time we see some stuff like this get built up cool

Edit: "built up" meaning seeing the progress as it gets built.

Btw, what bars are those?

Re: Oh what the hell...lets do this! Jayhawk 24" build thread.

I was wanting to buy one of these 24 frame and forks the summer before last.  I'm kind of bummed the communication with Jayhawk fell apart and it never happened, but now am thinking it was because of an issue with my darn email.  It's a cool looking frame, that's for sure.  I'm surprised yours doesn't have any decals?

I agree with ChattyMatty, you should do something with the fork steer tube.  Maybe some sort of sticker on it that shows through would be cool?

I'm interested to see the work in progress and how it ultimately turns out.  It's got me thinking maybe I should pick one up to have ready for next summer. lol

Re: Oh what the hell...lets do this! Jayhawk 24" build thread.

Thanks guys for the interest on this project!

To answer a few questions...yes I like triscuit crackers in my home...there so versatile.

The bars are StayStrong V.1 with 5.75 rise, 10 degree back sweep, 27.5 width.

As far as the steer tube being sprayed to see through the head tube...that could be a strong possibility down the line which I never considered. wink

Once again gents & I shall keep you all updated when I receive more parts. Til later.....

cool Love the wheel setup. I just built a 20" set with the same hubs and rims for my Skyway.

Yeah Nick the Yess forks are pretty neat as I bought them with the frame from the oringinal owner. I believe he wasn't thrilled about the craftsmanship of the Jayhawk forks so went a different route. What carbon forks you going back to using if you don't mind me asking?

Also thanks again for all the interest and positive comments on this project guys. Really wasn't expecting it since the Jayhawk brand isn't really well known and this exact bike was already submitted by community member elfdoublecross last year. It won't be much different after I'm finished if you gents want a sneak peak at it in the Jayhawk wing when Jaime finished it up. Just a few different parts to go and it'll be ready soon. big_smile
