Re: Is S&M coming out with a new Speedwagon frame?

Yeah if they did an XXXL Os20 I probably would have bought a yellow one.  Looks sweet, but I just converted my bike and wheels to OS20 and want to try it out for at least a few months, lol.

Thanks! They are DMR V12 mags. I don’t have any ride time on them yet, picked them up in a trade and swapped out my old premium slims.

I’ve got the Bontrager line pro pedals. Spin like crazy right out of the box. Lots of grip, no raised axle section to bother your feet, pretty thin, look great. Believe platform is 102 x 99 mm. Very happy with them.

Nice-looking build milhous! Love the yellow and black combo! How does it ride?

I run DMR V12s on my Crupi and love 'em, but have to admit that those Bontragers also look sweet!!

Thanks for posting this, I've been waiting to get some feedback on these.  I like a big platform and those caught my eye.  I was looking at the Elite model, I'll check those out.

S&M dropped the Steel Panther BTW, get them quick more than half the sizes/color combinations are already sold out. Too bad they didn't do a Raw finish.

And unlike it’s predecessors the 38 Special and Speedwagon, it’s not named after a cheesy rock band from the 80’s.

REO Speedwagon is probably my favorite band. .38 Special was pretty good, too. I don't even know who Steel Panther is, really. Are they more of a "gimmick" band...like they're a band, but not a REAL band?

Hey now.  It's technically the name of the predecessor of the modern day pick up truck first developed by one of the Olds brothers.  Random Earl Olds (REO). Still equally unfitting of a name for a bike or a rock band for that matter.  What was that band thinking?  What was Chris and team thinking when they came up with the name.  Both may have been influenced by the Gonga.  Steel Panther is questionable also.

If you haven't looked them up, Steel Panther (formerly known as "Metal Shop" and later "Metal Skool") is an act that parodies/satirizes the '80s hard rock / hair metal scene, basically taking the genre's cliches and turning them up to 11.

That said, there is some definite talent in the band.  Their singer gained fame in Atomic Punks (one of the all-time best Van Halen tribute bands) and later sang for L.A. Guns, while their guitar player (Russ Parrish) was a protege of Paul Gilbert and played lead guitar for "War and Peace" and "Fight" (Rob Halford's mid '90s band after leaving Judas Priest) before hooking up with Atomic Punks and continuing on into what became Steel Panther.

It should ride similar to my old Speedwagon, as the geo is the same. Unfortunately we’ve had a brutal winter so it has zero rides on it so far. Hopefully by the end of March/early April we can get some good weather and have the track up and running.

After taking up guitar as a hobby, I don't slag on anyone with the skills to make music. Well, not for the music ability anyway. The choice to tease your hair and go with their look, is something I've never appreciated.
I'm sure it's Chris' humor saying the old bikes were named after cheesy 80's bands and then call the new one steel panther. There is a reason I ride a 125r, and my next bike will be Standard too.

Weird question, as I like Crupi seatposts but the 27.2mm ones I use are really long like 330mm.
