1990 gt performer trike build
Yes a freestyle trike! It’s going to happen! I originally was going to use my haro master but after trying to fit the rear end on it wouldn’t fit. So it was flip between the redline rl20b or my original performer that has been in the family since new. Well since I already have two 90 hazard performers I decided to make one a trike. Game on baby!

Re: 1990 gt performer trike build
Thanks guys. I am using pacman forks. The parts you see there and that pro performer sprocket. I haven’t decided on the tires yet. It’s a flip between blue or white gt gumwall tires. I am using a disc brake in the back and not sure what I am using for the front yet.

Re: 1990 gt performer trike build
Your project looks like its going great! I built up a old damaged haro master a few years ago using sun trike parts n a lowrider chrome rearend trike kit from efay. It road very nice actually. Great to do roll backs
on n goof around the park here in florida. Be sure to run a smaller front sprocket. It makes it more enjoyable to ride with added weight n hills
Your only as old as you think you are

I picked up a donor trike at the scrap yard for 5 bucks. My son rode it for a year before I tore it apart. Everything I do is on a budget. With that being said, no way in hell was I spending the money on a rear end.

Re: 1990 gt performer trike build
Getting it mocked up to get it ready for powder coating and some fabrication for back 990 brakes. So apparently I don’t have a fork “I” want to use that isn’t cut for a gyro! Been shopping tonight for that and blue panaracer skinwall tires. I just have to tweak this rear end a little more in the morning and take it for a ride to see how it does, weld on my forks for 990 brakes in the back, then strip it back down. I am pushing this deadline to the max! I still have to soda blast these rims! So much to do by next Sunday!

I didn’t think a bmx trike would look worth a crap until I saw it. It’s gonna be awesome!

Re: 1990 gt performer trike build
My coworker hooked me up this morning. I fabricated the metal which I butchered two forks then he welded it up. Now I need to do some grinding, and patching. Then strip the paint and get powdered. I am hoping to have it powdercoated no later than Sunday night.

Both of these are cool but I definitely wanted this trike to stand out. Everything on this trike is bmx, even the rear end has bmx parts. That’s the look I was going for. I even am using my Hoffman love handlebars. Yea a waste of bars but I consider them retired from all the abuse I put them through!

rcWay Cool. Why are they both folding?
no reason really....its what was there, and they were 20 inch rides.lol both were brought back from the dead.
the neon one is mostly paint and knock off stuff....you know the canadians! lmao!!
the blue one done as a gt, i used alot of lower end gt stuff i had laying around. tires are all gt. laced alloy hoops on the wheels, and the fork is actually a gt fork i had with bad threads. i cutthe og fork steer tube off and re welded it so the fork would have the length for the frame.
it was a fun build. i rode it around a swap and a dude offered me 250 for it, so i sold it! lol it was a fun build though.
