Honest question,
Is this an acceptable way to ship a frame if it’s padded, wrapped and taped?

I’ve got a beat up frame that I’m getting ready to ship, I could do this, the buyer doesn’t mind but I don’t want to get turned away at the Post Office if not acceptable.

Thanks.

Wondering that myself, Maybe if it was in a bag or shrink wrapped?

if you use packing tape over the voids or a trash bag pulled tight with label slapped on . then yes. I got 2 frames sent to me that way.

OMG

I guess he didn't get paid enough to remove the pedals?

Think  about ALL THE TIME it took to make that , When all they had to do was take 1 min to remove both pedals smile

Thats how I ship just tires.. big_smile

Me too!

I bought a bunch of clearance park tires and the seller folded them and jammed them into a box.  That twist stayed on a few of them, they where fine and would mount without issues, they just looked like sh1t.

ya to cardboard disk top and bottom. add the trash bag. then tape a label on. but it's still around $24.00 to ship it. yikes

99.8% a good packing job, but it seems there’s always gotta be a thing like this for me. This is definitely not the worst I’ve received though

Should honestly be a no brainer, or at least wrap it up with foam between the two if you don't have a chain tool.

Re: WORST packing jobs! Send it!

Just got this package in, ebay purchase, nothing but the packing slip and ripped down the side. sad

Not bike related, cheap air hammer bits. Post Office said the packaging probably had sharp edges and it ripped it open / fell out and they would put it in their system look for the item and or if it shows up in the lost / found mail area, but I get the feeling they probably won’t find it. sad

I miss the days people used proper boxes and a decent amount of padding around it. With the high shipping costs people seem to really skimp on packing worse than ever.

Did the weight indicated on the label seem right?

It was a seller printed label and don’t see any weight, I did check for that. It was Parcel Select which allows for more weight than First Class, so I presume they actually sent the items and not just a bag with a packing slip as I'm sure Parcel Select cost more money. They have also sold a lot of these and their feedback is overall really good, so doubt it was a scam, but I had wondered. The seller said they have never had this happen, and so far have been friendly about it and apologized for the inconvenience. I asked them if they could perhaps contact USPS to try to get them to look for these since they ship a lot through them, but said they can send another set out so maybe they don't want to deal with it or know its a lost cause. As I mentioned I already contacted USPS and waiting to hear back still on if they can locate the item, but we know that is somewhat unlikely.

Re: WORST packing jobs! Send it!

Wouldnt be surprised at outright theft. Since the pandemic began, my primary mail carrier became a temp. Someone to fill in. Guy doesnt even wear a usps outfit. I had a package sent to me by a good friend. It was packed up very well. Opened my box to find the packaging empty. Talked to my local post office and was told that many of my neighbors have complained about this man as well. Yet he is still delivering my mail. I came home yesterday to find my water bill laying on the ground at the base of my mailbox. I plan to set up my camera and record this shady ass dude doing his shit at my mailbox.
