Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***

I tried posting my Deluxe a few years ago and it absolutely didn't let me post it without a serial number. I remember getting error messages. I had already sold the frame at that point, so I thought F-it and moved on.

Also, I recently posted my CCR in the S&M hoarders thread. No one cared. Not much motivation to upload even more stuff.

I think I post at least 1 bike a year, got a couple that I've been riding for awhile that I haven't sat down to post yet.  I switch parts around like crazy, sometimes for like 6 months after I build a bike.  If I can't ride it how I want to ride it, I just try different things in the parts bin until I find something that works, even if it wasn't part of the original plan.  I don't want to submit a bike I know I'm gonna change certain things on in a week or a month or whatever, then I have to take new pics and update the listing and whatnot.  Plus, nobody wants to see my crappy nomad parts that I keep switching from frame to frame tongue

i only post bikes that we dont have many of. no need to add a bike if we already have 50 of them on the museum.

Just laziness- but now I am almost caught up.

I think it's good to post them even if there are others- draws people to the site, and opens up discussions

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***

I submit all of mine. I even keep them there after they are sold. More opportunities for reference the better. I sell a bike and it doesn't get resubmitted by the new owner then it's lost forever. I value the reference factor.

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***

After almost 14 years, I finally submitted all mine early this year. I only list what I actually own. Anything sold gets deleted. Why?? I have an old RA10 that is listed by AT LEAST four other members. I just dont agree with it. If I sell it, I delete it.

Majority of my bikes are stolen, don;t want the owners to recognize them.So I don't post em.

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***

I keep on posting as I build them.

Not sure if I'm just computer illiterate, but the part that bugs me is when submitting the bike, I can only upload one pic at a time.  I have to submit the bike, then go back and edit it just to add one more pic, then repeat the process until all pics are finally uploaded. No matter how many different times/ways I've tried it, I can never upload more than 1 pic at a time.

The higher quality/bigger the image, the longer it takes to upload.  You can do them all at once, with the huge files, but it will take forever and will be stuck on the "bike submitted ok!" page for a LONG time before you see any progress.  Not a problem on a faster connection, but bad for trying to upload right from your phone, or just on a slow connection.  My phone takes ridiculously high quality pics so I just download everything from my phone to PC, resize, then upload to the museum on the faster PC connection.
