Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

McMahon indeed.  By far the best looking fork of the multipiece style I've ever seen.  Pix do no justice.

Thanks Perron.  He did not partake in the build, partly due to his lack of interest, and also due to my OCD, lol.  He never rides this thing anymore either.  Been sitting in his bedroom for years now.

Haha... no.
My boy loves the old school scene and coming out on rides/meets but he's got no interest in building. Too busy glued to his fookin xbox.  hmm  lol

Re: Post Your ELF Stuff!

I got some a Elf pad set in today, but I gotta go pro to post pictures.

Hey ERICHEVY are those Flite seat covers provide any relief/comfort while riding or is it mostly just a cover?  (Sorry for the off topic question)

Re: Post Your ELF Stuff!

Built this neighborhood cruzin bike for my kid about 6 years ago.
He is now 12 and on to bigger and better things.

My youngest son is almost 6, and will inherit this Elf in a year or two        smile
Currently running 20x1.5's with custom rear brake plate as it's spec'ed to run 1 3/8's

Very little, but might help a bit.  The back edge ended up starting to tear on the sharp rear edge of the Aero seat.  I have since replaced the seat with a red Kashi.  The old seat was a black Viscount, hence the red cover to match.

I agree. I have this same type of McMahon fork in custom polished with original anodized black "coins"

Re: Post Your ELF Stuff!

Got this not too long ago, 96 Pro XL frame.

I am in the process of sanding it down so I can polish it, but wanted to get most of the scratches / scuffs out of it first.

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4871/31749865367_5a331e8c53_z.jpg

Here is the previous owners photos / how I found it on Offerup. I wasn't even really looking for any BMX stuff, I think it was shown in my recommendations from my past searches, just kind of happened into it. It was spray painted black at some point in its life, but I wasn't into that at all, so I stripped it and started sanding out the blemishes. I still need to wet sand it before polishing, but may have a couple more blemishes to get out first. The guy gave me a good deal on it.

My youngest boy (3yo) soon to be next bike when he gets a little older. Check out the cranks and bars. Don't see either to often. First gen mini bars and Elf dog bones made by Cooks.
