1981 Mongoose Motomag
1981 Mongoose Motomag
got this here on the museum
needed an oa bath. i gave it a shot, my first attempt came out pretty awesome. let it sit overnight. still needs some polishing to make that nickel shine. notice the odd dropouts.
update:
I put a few stickers on it, had it in my house on display for a while. scored these redline bars, gold rims and tuffneck, and decided to put it back together.

Great start. With a little more polish and some decals will look like new. Forks are a rare Tange fork it seems, what are they?

Re: 1981 Mongoose Motomag
i hand polished the frame with rags and mother's polish. i was stuck at the hopital i work at during hurricane katrina, and had plenty of time to work on it. after that, it was sitting around looking shiny. then i saw the bike(redline) with the club homeboy stickers. the club homeboy stickers would have cost a small fortune, and i bought an asload of vans stickers on the bay for cheap and used them. the frame is pretty sweet, but the forks had bad chrome and look way better with the decals. thanks for the compliments. i may build it with some black tuffs i have sitting in my shed, but probably not since i wouldn't ride it much and its a cool wallhanger.

Re: 1981 Mongoose Motomag
yeah it is pretty cool truely one of a kind, If you decided to build it, it would probably be a good show bike! I really like that you used black on the forks, and red on the frame!

Re: 1981 Mongoose Motomag
I like the stickers! They look cool, they highlight the gussets and best of all, you don't have to worry at all about riding it because they protect the frame

Not cheap if he bought 100 pairs of vans.

but would have been cool if he had already bought that many vans and decided to use em on the frame.
very cool idea.
