Craigslist Best and Worst

I assume most of us here are constantly on CL, Kijiji, Offerup and other local sites searching for a possible score.  While I mostly see DS bikes, I find the occasional laugh with ridiculous descriptions and outlandish prices (one guy posted a Murray track certified for $1100.00).
In your years of searching, what are some of the more humorous and ridiculous postings you’ve came across?

There's been someone that keeps posting hutch bmx in the chi-town craigslist for at least the past 6 months of crossdressers https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/bik/ … 18075.html

Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

Re: Craigslist Best and Worst

Okay, so I think this is my favorite Craigslist line of all:

I know what it's worth!  Make offer.

Well......if I knew what it was worth, why don't I just put the price?

Re: Craigslist Best and Worst

One of these Dyno divine girls bmx was listed for about 2 years on my local CL for $500, finally just disappeared!

Also the infamous Walmart green/Black bmx with green pegs listed as “professional series bmx pro bike” further goes on to say in the ad what a great price for a high end bike! lol

Re: Craigslist Best and Worst

I always liked the ones that would post a WTB ad stating that they pay "Top Dollar" for old school BMX bikes roll I knew of a couple of clowns in Cleveland that would do this then low ball the shit out of unsuspecting sellers.

Yep, I think every county’s got one of them! I contacted a guy some months back when selling off my old school bikes from CL, same deal, “paying top dollar for old school bmx bikes”. Well his best offer on my 81 mongoose was $225 hmm lol

Thank you! She’s gone now as all my old school are, I’ve kinda jumped ship to NS.

Im itching to have an exact replica frame made of that bike though. I want a 21” tt version with new school geometry. I’m a mongoose fanatic but at 6’ 250lbs they’re tiny little bikes on me!
