Thanks for posting these pictures! big_smile

Looking at my frame I was wondering why they even bothered to connect the seatpost tube to the rearend loop using only tiny welds as a bridge:

I mean if there are forces at play in that area, are these welds going to hold? Wouldn't have short pieces of tube welded in there been better? How is this on the STR-26 and STR-29 or other rertro Quads?

Been there, done that in The Eighties as a kid.

No problem.....figure some of you guys dont do instagram and those are some cool pics.

The "freestyle quads" weren't looptails so has more conventional look. You should be fine. Unless you plan on flogging the piss out of it. In that case buy a new school bike for that. These retro completes will only get you so far. If you plan on dirt jumping this bike I would recommed replacing the headset ASAP. The picture below was an "aqua" that I stripped and rebuilt. Used stock headset and blew it to pieces about a month after this picture. Scary stuff. I moved on to 22". Integrated headsets are the shit if your going to play crash test dummy big_smile.Take care man.

Re: STR 24” Quadangle

Nice custom touch to that freestyle 24!

Yeah the headset choice is really a weird thing with those retro bikes, sometimes SE uses crappy ones like on the previous STR-26+29 and Freestyle 24 and sometimes they use the fairly decent Tange DX4 headset, like now on the STR-24 and the Perry Kramer P.K. Ripper but then the Mike Buff 26 and OM don't have it. I really wonder why they are not consistent with that, why not just a DX4 on every Retro...it looks better too.

Re: STR 24” Quadangle

Yay I just put one in layaway at planet bmx. Most excited I've been on a new bike since my red retro Floval with tuffs that I had to sell. smile
