What do you base that on? Has it something to do with Trump? lol

Trump's tarrifs on imported China goods.

^^ Do you mean the 2016 24" Freestyle Quad?

I think that one was hard to sell at list price because of the color combo and a bit to new school'ish perhaps?

I do have one now, I pulled the trigger only until it dropped in price good enough to not let it pass.

I reserved an STR-24 now too, and I quess this one won't be able to grab at discounted price later on. lol

I'm very excited about this STR-24" even though I wasn't excited at all about the 26 and 29 versions....I guess the gold/baby blue  hits the sweetspot and I favour the 24" frame size in Quadangle style anyway over it's bigger brothers. (In 26" OM Flyer can't be beaten IMHO). cool

Yeah that one. Todd Lyons said it was a very poor seller. I guess any one who wanted one got one before 2016 and there was just no one left. There were two colours. White and blue (which was nice, that was the frame and fork I had) or duck egg. Aqua they called it. But yeah it had literally stopped selling completely which is why they probably came up with this STR to tempt people into buying another one. There was nothing wrong with the design, it just wasn't appealing to kids enough I guess (they all want public enemas).

The 2015 was still available when they started discounting the 2016, so I bought mine super cheap.
http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-image … 54c3c0.jpg
I actually like the "freestyle" model more because of the smaller sprocket and 990 brakes.  Mine is still a work in progress, I want to replace the wheels with a set of black Revenge wheels or custom wheels, black tires, and maybe paint it a different color one day.

I wish Oakley and ODI would make more of these retro grips for the general public.

Well, my blackout idea was swapped when my girlfriend decided to claim my Quadrangle.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/47469/img_20180820_1848375b7b545d44.jpg
Swapped the cranks back to white SE take offs and the black pedals from my Block's Flyer since this picture was taken. Needed the chrome Stolen cranks for my Big Ripper.

I keep buying and selling, so I guess I wasn't happy with the four I had left.

Already had the Bars waitin'. This thing is absolutely F'n B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
I think the Seatpost should be Chrome & the Sprocket should be Gold. What do you guys think?

Very nice, you received it yesterday? This new Retro nails it definitely!
I think as long as the gold stem is on there I wouldn't mind leaving the gold seatpost on it. Camo pads would be nice addition too.
I'm also going to swap the cruiserbar on mine for taller, probably 7,5" or 8,25".

Yup, got it yesterday (8/23). 100% Agreed on the Camo pads as well!
Don't know why they didn't do Camo pads in the 1st place (no pun intended/can't please everybody, all the time), still a killer ride for sure though!
Also, Powerwings have a 9" rise, they feel Great. I'm 6' 1"...

I would not classify 500 made as such a low number that it would give reason to surge the price up this fast. lol

I hold a 80's Shimano pedal against the dark gold rim and it's the gold same if you ask me:

Re: STR 24” Quadangle

So I took the STR for a spin and I came back satisfied....the bike feels light and responsive, very stiff and easy to handle.....pulls up wheelies with easy and I also like the seating position...BB sits low enough for nice cruising, I feel just about as comfortable as on a 26" SE. Looks are very pleasing and the factory paintjob is outstanding, glad I bought the bike.

Props to Todd, Stu and rest of SE Team for bringing this nice bike to us. cool

Last pictures (for now), oh yeah reflectors have now been removed tongue and I will probably add black Odi Mushroom grips later on:

https://myalbum.com/photo/FsA49bMX9igR/360.jpg

https://myalbum.com/photo/Z5Pp6A4RAXbd/360.jpg

P.s. The way it is now it puts 12.3kg on the scale but it actually feels lighter than that, maybe because of the stiffness.

Thx!

Thx, for posting of what it looks like w/the chrome/silver post too, they had the right idea just put it in the wrong spot. IMO

I picked up a chrome post yesterday that I'll be swapping out this wknd, maybe even tonight.

In regards to putting the gold in the wrong spot, I'll be swapping out the sprocket to gold. LOL, probably ordering that tonight too! lol

Are those the Cruiser bars that came  w/it too? I never opened mine as I went w/the full-size Powerwings.

Here is the original that came with the bike, I find it more suitable for a 26" or 29" bike:

These came in 8.25"? I thought they were 9" rise. Looking to get a set and would prefer the 8.25" if they make them.
