Re: Scores: BEST OF
OK some of mini my most resent one's
FREE just need to fix it up look what just got dropped off needs new seals maybe a magneto. but so stoooooked to have it! 7 horse motor , doable wall rims, Maxiss hook worm tires., moped rear hub, front is disk mountain bike hub.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
picked this up at a local swap meet because well it was $35.00. forks have the Haro Chevron logo, frame is just stamped on drop outs with a H . some one threw all most all the parts from a stock 90's GT mach one on it. it dose have a nice bonus part. that made me have to buy it. can any one guess what that part is???
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this stuff was free from a guy down the street
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
was working my local swap meet selling bike parts. I go to bathroom for a tinkle brake. but never mad it. I spot these 2 bikes ask how much. well after looking the Specialized Vegas Fat boy over. they sure got the name wright! it's freaking heave.
I see it has some nice parts. 48 hole Haro full sealed 14mm female axle hubs laced to Alex Triple E chrome rims sporting a Haro Holly Roller 3 decal on rims., Primo V monster tire, Primo dirt monster Tire lots of other nice parts, Primo Gorilla cup. what may be S&M bars? Dia-compe 990 AD brake. any who payed him $15.00 then $20.00 for the DK General LEE he had because it was more complete built. it has Sun ZX25 rims laced to sealed bearing 14 MM DK hubs. GT piston stem. to bad the Haro Mirra seats are ripped. all and all I think I did good on this score.
Now some pictures of the loot!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOS score BFR Sun rims 48 hole with Stainless steal spokes laced to Bullet prof sealed bearing flip flop hubs with 14mm flat axles. so they work in both Old school or Mid school/ New school frames. you can use os or micro gearing . they have shop wear and dust. but spin smooth as butter.
so I had to ship some bike parts. but it was all smalls. IE would fit in a back pack. it's a nice sunny day here. so I took out MY S&M dirt bike. pedaled to the post office. but my tire was low. seen a bike shop sine off in the distance. figure they got to have a bike pump or air for repairs. never been their before. while he's inflating my tires. I look a round spot the dusty BFR logo on rims hanging up. um how much are those wheels?
sold!!!!!!!! I might go back for the 36 hole black set. .but have to wait till after I pay off some bills.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I could not pass this bike up for $45.00 at my local swap meet. it has Tioga head set , SST oryg gyro, Odyssey Excalibur cranks, Snafu sprocket, Primo seat, Redline micro adjust seat post Redline sealed bearing flip flop high flange 48 hole wheels with 14 mm axles, maxis holly roller tires like new.

oh and I snagged this for $1.00
so fare only thing I took off was the plastic Chain guard it sill had on
---------------------------------------------------------------
when to a local Bike shop for a threadless stem bolt. I spot this dust rim hanging up. ask how much. they say what's the faded sticker say. I look and well I just had to buy it
they said they would look around. but are pretty sure that's the only one left.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
mid school chrome forks I snagged for $10.00 with a Tioga head set
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was looking at buying a Redline MS Trail BMX at my local Swap meet. lady told me it was $40.00 I could not get the cash out fast enough. it had 14 MM sealed RL wheels Odyssey Excalibur cranks . but I did not even bother to haggle price.
lady then gets a light bulb in her head. it most be worth more. he did not haggle price. so she quickly go's oh it's actuality $60.00
well this homey don't play that game ! so I bonce and move on. (got it later for a good price) then I see this Mirra co bike 3PC cranks mid Bottom bracket,14MM Cassette wheel may be I should ask price. this lady said $35.00. yup I learned my lesson I said I will give you $20.00 we settled on $30.00 any who it has Kink, Fit , S&M , Cult and Mira Co stickers. theirs no brake post bike shop sticker said it sold At Jacks cycles in Huntington Beach Orange County CA .
I am not good enough to ride brake less so took bike back to swap meet to resell it.
so this young guy may be in HS or college ask how much. I tell him price. he said would you take $$60.00 nope. well turns out he clammed All I have is $80.00 on me. how bought we do $80.00 plus I throw my old bike in to make up the cost diff. I look it over well now I have another Mirra co but this one has brakes
sure he might have just bought that one their and had buyers remorse. after seeing mine who cares. I got another BMX bike to play with!
Bike #2
Mira Co Icon
----------------------------------------------------------------
one of my best scores.
a while back got lucky was in my local bike shop buying a Odyssey Gyro cable. the head shop bike repair guy. new I fix up old BMX. said I have a BMX left over that I bought for my kid. he do's not ride it or want it any more. maybe you do. it's up stairs. so I go have a look. bite my tong. to keep from doing a happy dance! $80,00 later I am bringing home a loaded Standard Bykes complete custom built bike. Boss cranks, JSP hubs you get the picture loaded !!
so just had to share pictures on the museum in catch all of my score.
thats when members started blowing up my PM box asking is it for sale if you part it. how much for part X.
a few PM's later it was on it's way to a new home. I traded it to Joe Hboost for a real lot of cash ,keep some parts off it and got this killer used 2013 Aggro Rag frame! from him in the deal
---------------------------------------------------------------
got this free Cycle Pro cruiser from a old family friend. she has had it since new. it should clean up really nice.

--------------------------------------------------------
I got these at a local swap meet $36 for the pair. so not to worried about value / getting my money back out them. just some thing fun and cheap to play with. A GT and A DYNO
-------------------------------------------------------
not bad for $30.00 I just had to snatch it up! 16" Free Agent LILO HOMIE
odd it has 14mm drop out axle slots front and back yet 14 mm axle adapter washers.. yet 3/8 axles on flip flop sealed Free Agent hubs laced to Alex rims.

In regards to price, this wasn’t a real score but the item itself was a score of a lifetime for me. I just started getting serious about recreating my old bike I sold off many years ago and these popped up for sale right here on the museum!
These are in fact the original wheels off my old bike, returning to me some 25 years later from a complete stranger in a completely different part of the country from where they were last sold.
Still blows my mind today
The complete bike is one of the few photos of my original bike

Aside from the hoops being pink 7L a seldom seen hoop and the only pink ones I’ve ever seen , they also had the wear marks of the valve caps of which I somehow managed to hold onto all these years. http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-image … 5e974.jpeg

Re: Scores: BEST OF
I scored this Fairdale 26er for $75, and flipped it for more than quadruple that:
My best personal score was this 93-94 Parkpre cruiser. My diligent CLing paid off when I saw this blurry pic in in ad that read simply: "Bike - $150" I was the first to contact him, and the first to go look at it. I didn't even know what it was, but I recognized all the DK stuff:
When I showed up to look, he stated he had several people offered more money to hold it, but true to his word, he sold it to me for 150. As I was loading it up he asked me whether I was going to flip it, and I told him that I intended to ride it, which I do, often...

What is considered a true score?
A free find or does it count if you pay for it?
Heres my profound, life changing statement.
Lifes a bitch..PASS ME A BEER.
They're reacting and that's wonderful. It's better than them sitting there doing nothing. I say make them react - do whatever's in your power to move the audience, and if that's where it is, and there where it is with America, sex and violence, then I say project it.

if you pay retail /going rate at the time or more than that. I feel it's not a true score just a perches / buy. but if you get it/buy it for less then hell yes SCORE!!

The above was a trade for a set of pads seat clamp (Not cook) and a Patterson frame...so
Depending on the rarity paying retail could still be a score

true if it's uber rare just finding some one willing to sell it is a kinda score.
