Polishing a compact disc

Does anyone have any ideas how to polish these discs? I want this black one to look like the white one.

Re: Polishing a compact disc

Easy way: mini-lathe and a 3 jaw chuck.

Hard way: elbow grease and patience

I've actually bolted one to my bench grinder/ buffer once. Incredibly stupid and dangerous but it worked.

Re: Polishing a compact disc

I did a tigoa CD,but I was using a machine buffer though. It came out looking like a mirror.best thing to do in your case would be to use a sadning block and go at it with different grits of wetsand paper.

Re: Polishing a compact disc

I used an electric drill. Wrapped duct tape around a drill bit till the tape was thick enough to hold the disc. Polish as it spins.

I destroyed my Murray and Huffy bikes as a kid in the 80s while my friends rode nice bikes..  Shitty gear can cause injury and hurt your children. Hurting your children is child abuse...  Don't abuse your children!

did you do a retro 90s performer into an 80s style performer?  I remember your name.  if so we were doing the build at the same time.
