1951 Schwinn Panther 26
1951 Schwinn Panther 26
Klunk it out!
(Sucks the earliest year to register is 1966)
Got this Schwinn frame a while ago, and decided to make a Klunker out of it.
Frame is a 1951 Panther. Wheels are Pro-Class in 26" flavor, wrapped in Maxxis DTH 26x2 10 tires. Rear hub is a old school Suntour coaster hub, 13Tcog. Cranks are 180mm Schwinn XS. BB is Redline, pedals are Truvativ. Chain is a KMS ultralight. Chain sprocket is a 30T Fournier Tornado. Seat is Selle Italia Turbo, seat post is MCS, seat clamp is Hutch. Grips are DK Shuko, handlebar is Volume Sledgehammer. HB pad is Team Schwinn repop. Stem is a threadless Ruf-Neck. Compression bolt is a generic with the words "Go faster" inscribed in it. HS is a FSA, massaged by Chatty Matty for use in a 1" HT. Spacer is a retro bolt from SE racing. Fork is a S/M Pitchfork. HT badge is from the Henderson Admiral bike right after bought by Schwinn. Dice are done by yours truly.
Hope you like.

So awesome - looks like a blast to ride, not to mention a great project with a very cool ending.
I am not "Mike Buff" - Who is that anyway?

Nineteen what what now. That's a mighty purty bicycle. Like it. Good luck.
