Re: 1986 MARTIN APARIJO GT PFT REPLICA BUILD

Thanks Guys!  I still need the 86 fork standers and the 86 seat both in LAVENDER. Oh yeah, and some chrome Araya rims too.  The parts gathering has been pretty good so far.

That auction isn't for the faint of heart, but certainly not an easy thing to find.  GL!

I think I found one - NOSish

I may have found some fork standers also.  It seems to be shaping up to be a good day for this build!

Interesting, in this photo he has 3 white levers, white pedals, and a black seat.

It looks to me like he was just given access to all of the available bikes and parts and just threw a bit of everything together to get the best of everything (chrome, day glo and lavender).

Re: 1986 MARTIN APARIJO GT PFT REPLICA BUILD

I'm still alive!!  Life got in the way there for a bit, but this is still slowly progressing.  I do have the seat now.  I can't stand the OG DG yellow forks I had (they were to ruff and out of place on this build, but I didn't have the heart to re-powder them, only OG once) so I have found another set that needed powder.  I am sending a post and fork to C4 soon to get the treatment.  I'm excited to compare the OG goods I have to the C4 stuff and see how close the color is!

Parts I still need off the top of my head -

lavender 86 fork standers (or any 86 / 1st gen's that need powder)
chrome araya style rims

If I don't find the correct rims I will use a set of chrome superlaces / ukai's that i have already.  hopefully nobody throws me off a cliff if it comes to that.

some parts pics will come soon, when I dig my way back to my bench.  lol

Those forks are so toasty there isnt much OG to save. lol

The color is the same, as with all day glo colors they can vary slightly from part to part.
