That is pretty darn close!

I picked up some parts through the weekend.  got hubs, orphan stander, brake pads showed today, and brakes should be coming soon.

This is goi g to be a killer build. I can’t imagine many from this era don’t remember the pic and don’t think this bike wasn’t bad ass. I had the pic on my wall.

My sissy lever doubled as a way to carry my baseball mitt to baseball games.

I have never had a set of these pedals.  I have to say, there is no doubt why he ran them, they are smooth as butter, way better traction, and slightly bigger than the SR’s.  These are very nice pedals for sure!!!

I've had a couple sets of those pedals in the past... spin better than any pedal I've ever had.  Totally underrated in my opinion.

+1 The graphite KKTs are smooth as well. Which is what I always ran. Great pedals!

I feel like a noob but I have to ask - how does the 3rd brake lever work.  Does it operate the front brake?  How do 2 cables work one brake?

Re: 1986 MARTIN APARIJO GT PFT REPLICA BUILD

So I’m kinda leaning toward a Izumi chain black on silver - slotted. This might be a tough find.

Took me a while to find mine.... I ended up with all silver.  I gave up on the "Zebra" chain.

You can see he has this bike set up very similar.  Lever on the bars and all....

Every variation of this bike is so amazingly 80s, I can't take the radness. I'm gonna have to go blast some Depeche Mode or something.

Re: 1986 MARTIN APARIJO GT PFT REPLICA BUILD

This is one of my fave bikes ever. The front caliper is the odyssey 1999 found on 87 performers. And yes the grips are the A’me Mtn. Which were softer and nicer than most A’me grips. The purple lever is an Rx-2. Martin ran smx’s on a few bikes, and he was spot on, some of my fave alloy pedals ever. His frame appears to be steeper, must be the 86.5 pft. Great project man, this rocks!!
