1989 S&M DIRTBIKE

Early 89 Dirtbike, bought from the original owner. Unfortunately when the owner was prepping the bike to sell he pulled the OG decals and added S&M retro decals... I swapped a few parts out and will be cleaning it up very soon.

Only us old schoolers remember those spoke
Protectors, from the late 80s.. more of a  bmx
Racer thing though,  made real popular by Mr. T
Not "hey fool"   but by MCS rider Terry T.
Cook Bros. S&M. My favorite 20" bmx frame...
80s still live....at least in my mind...

If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all.....

What does the brake bridge look like? The head tube looks like Cook Bros but the drops/serial look like GT.

Would love to find my old Dirt Bike.  It was stolen in Pompano Beach, Florida in about 1996.  It's a '92 with the block graphics on a Green frame.  Pitchforks, Slam bars, GT (DK-style) stem and GT/Profile cranks.  Superlace hubs.  Would really love to put this back in my collection.

I was torn on that too. But the brake bridge is round so pretty sure its a GT built.

I haven't measured the TT yet but, I'm 99% sure its a DB with the serial #. I bought it from the original owner but he didn't say what decals came on the bike. Sadly when the owner was prepping the bike to sell it, He took it to a local bike shop and they pulled the decals, tires, grips, seat, and padset off and replaced them all with modern parts and S&M repop decals and padset Thinking it would increase the value....

I wasn`t questioning if it was a DirtBike or not I was just noting that my Mad Dog was built with the same head tube , round brake bridge and dropout shape. Probably most of the 89 frames were built this way.
