1986 GT Mach One

Needs a lot to get back on the road

I bought this 86’ Huntington Beach on the Bay from a person that had nothing else BMX related on their “for sale” section. Everything else was just a bunch of dresses and trinkets n shit. It had very poor pictures and the description was weak. I could see that the chrome was nice and the rear drop outs were barely scuffed.  I rolled the dice for $100 plus shipping from California to Texas. It was the 229th Mach One to roll off the line from Japan in January of 86’. The serial number reads 6A0229 with the baseball stamp afterwards.  From my research this should mean it was built “6” 1986, “A” January, “0229“ 229th frame, with baseball stamp showing it was built in Japan.  I’m a long way from building this bike. I’ll keep it on the wall for now till that day comes.

Nice! Keep your eye on your local Craigslist and eBay, just picking up little parts here and there for reasonable price, before you know it a bicycle begins to manifest!

Re: 1986 GT Mach One

Thank you, I appreciate that. I’m always on CL and EBay when I have the time to do it.
