Re: Pipeline colour shots finally digitized

AWESOME!!!

Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

Absolutely awesome stuff!!!!! Thanks for sharing!  What's the origin/story of these pics?
I agree with what was said about Blyther and Fiola above, but ya gotta give it up for Mike D.  Holding his own all while looking like he just stepped out of his 10th grade algebra class!!

Remember....if everyone came to a bike show without a bike, it would just be a bunch of dudes standing around in a park...and that's just creepy!  If you've got one, bring one.  -Me

Amazing photos - thanks for sharing. My friends and I always talked/dreamed of going to this 'mythical' Pipeline place when we were kids. Unfortunately it was 5500 miles away!

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

The stickers are "Mike Dominguez" Haro Sport chainstay decals. Lots of them.
And Eddie's wheels were 21".

(I think)

I was 20 years old and living freestyle bmx in 1985. Always dreamed of going to California to bmx & skate. 3 months into my first full-time job and I managed to wangle 4 weeks holiday. The flight was booked and off I went. The K.O.S. final was the highlight but we also visited the BMX Plus! offices, the Vans factory in Orange, shopped at Val Surf and I bumped into Jay Adams  and had a really good conversation with him  at Venice Beach.
You're spot-on with regards to Mike Dominguez. He blew everyone's minds with 540's,no-footer can-cans and the best lookbacks ever. I was a BIG Brian Blyther fan back then (so smooth) but Dominguez ruled that day!

Re: Pipeline colour shots finally digitized

Blyther being a police officer in cali still goes to his local state park and rides, I seen him there once in his uniform on a kids bike messing around big_smile.
Seeing your local police officer doing tricks in uniform is a great way to get community kids to look up to and respect law enforcement. smile
