1980 GT PRO 5 digit serial number inner right side drop out. 18.5" Top tube, small down tube.
Serial #01683 maybe GAry can confirm this a true 1980.
Frame: early GT Santa Ana head tube decal still there, a couple small holes drilled for no reason. Original chrome is ok no major rust spots or dents. Rear drop outs a little worn. Forks: non drilled, a little rash but good chrome. Cool bike, I would argue that that's an 81. FROM INFO I"VE GATHERED AND HEARD FROM NUMEROUS SOURCES (*note, I am not proclaiming to be 100% correct). I read the serial as 10 of 81 #163 Could almost make it an 82 but with no model designation on the dropout I would consider it a true 81. The top tube is the later 81 design (shorter past the seat tube after end of year 1980 models). Also, the top tube length seems like a really late 80 or anytime in 81 built bike. The 80's I've seen/own have had shorter top tubes. Just consider this observation and inference, Gary Turner could possibly verify.
