Haro needs to release those Lineage hoops individually, both the 36 and 48 hole....

Look at the specs!  i already sent my deposit! I am excited!!!  This is officially the last frame i am buying. Between the 2017 black/yellow and this one, i am SET!

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-image … a1cc2c.jpg

I keep telling myself the same Lou....this is the last one lol
Sent deposit too....and a couple of Kneesavers to complete the madness lol

lol its difficult, i actually had to sell the red frame/bike cuz i realized i didnt need 2 modern flatland bikes. My riding time is so limited these days there really is zero reason for 2 complete bikes. Then I decided to sell one frame off of the 2017s and afte much going back n fourth, decided to keep the yellow one cuz thre extra .5" top tube didnt really bother me and it was one of my fave colors. I kinda regretted it not long after thinking i should have kept the red one, and was contemplating replacing it, and then i saw this. lol.

Honestly if the specs were the same as the red 19" or the regular 19.5's, i may have convinced myself to not get this one cuz it would have been all about the color only....buuuuut those specs are SO awesome. Im strictly a flatland guy and even though the 2017 rides great and i do love it... these more progressive flatland specs make it, dare i say "perfect"...to me at least. I know it wont work for everyone but i have seen A LOT of people saying they wish they did the flatland frame in more modern flat specs...and here it is. ...so there goes my money LOL!! The thought of getting 2 has crossed my mind. Reason being id repaint one, (like the old 87 sport blk/white[blue]/Chrome) and probably sell the 2017. These specs are just that good to me lol. 2 Frames will likely last me till i cant ride anymore. They are limited so i dont wanna break one with my fat ass and be out a frame..these are the end all for me for sure.... i swear lol.

Re: 2018 Haro Flatland Master frames!!!!

Originally i thought the photo was of a lineage frame and they photoshopped the standover lower, but now i am lead to believe this is a prototype of the actual frame. Since it IS Yull's specs and one of those was already made, i feel thats likely true.

So im noticing aside form the stated specs being differnt than the 2017's,  that the down tube is welded lower up front, much more like the 88's. The 2017 it was still high like the 2016/86 Masters and that made the wrap around gusset look a little odd cuz it had to be taller to accommodate that. However i know the point was to keep the clearance there. But i dont think that will be an issue with this frame.  I also see the drops are like a cross between the lineage ones and the flatland 2017 ones. More modern looking, and a bit smaller, but the tubes appear to be welded flush like the flatland masters of before. i thought i saw tentioners like the Lineage, but looking more closely i think it could be a  shine and there may not be tentioners, which is fine really, but it would be nice if im wrong and there ARE tensioners. I also noticed the paint goes past the cross brace on the rear...which is...odd, but i did notice John Yulls was like that, so i guess they decided to do it the same.... at least for this prototype anyways. If the production ones have the paint like that, I may have to take a razorblade to that and take it back a little bit lol.  But man i am loving this frame!

Re: 2018 Haro Flatland Master frames!!!!

I am disappointed they are only offering these with the Yull specific geometry.  John rules, but I don't want to ride a bike with a 13" back end, a 72 degree seat angle and a super low slung top tube.  The other geometry, especially in 19", was much better suited for me.

Does this mean the top tubes will run less uphill?  More level to the ground than the 16/17's?

Well this is a more modern flatland frame geo. Most of the flatland frames of the past few years are very similar to this. These are marketed for the more modern flatland specific riders, on par with flatland frames of NOW.

The good thing is if you like the older geo better, you can still get that in the 2017.  As great as it is having cool colors to choose from, if you like the specs the color shouldnt matter.

If you need a 2017 i may willing to sell you mine for a good price as i like this new geo better.

Re: 2018 Haro Flatland Master frames!!!!

I am glad they are doing the bars in colors but I swear John said they were going to come with decal choices. Pat said he hadn't heard that but I hope they do. I would get several black pair for all my 87 and 88 Haro's that have black front ends.

Love it!  Looks fantastic.  Really looking forward to this.  cool

I had hoped the 19.5" would be turquoise/mint and the 19" black but this will get me on the shorter frame sooner than I would have otherwise.  big_smile

Really thankful this is happening.  The overstock of '17s and significant scale back for '18 had me concerned about the future of the flat Master frame.  The delayed announcement (apart from all the other '18 product line reveals) was worth the wait.

Yea i had heard these almost didn't happen... but keep in mind they need to get a minimum of 80 frames sold otherwise everyone gets refunded and it DOESNT happen! I got my fingers crossed that there is enough of us liking these new specs to make it happen. It was a huge risk for them to change it like this as most NS riders arent interested in retro designs/styling. The previous specs were more fitting for the larger percentage of the market these were geared towards...and i do like the other specs...but i'll admit i do like the specs of more modern frames better for flatland, and me being a flatland only rider, this is right up my alley.

Okay. Now I'm in.

I was going to get a custom frame made...but with these specs, I might just go with the Master.
With this geometry, it's not just an ornament to me anymore.

Keep in mind this is a flat only frame.  It will be really tight for someone as tall as you are

Re: 2018 Haro Flatland Master frames!!!!

Although these have hardcore flatland geometry, there are ways to tweak the ride to make it more well-rounded and/or to fit a bigger rider. You can go with offset forks, longer stem, and you can pull the wheel back in the dropouts to give you a longer chainstay. It will still be a flatland bike but not quite a “circus” bike.

Just my $.02...

I'm 6'5" and ride a 19.5"TT frame for flatland and 21.25" for everything else.  I don't think I can go below 19" without it being uncomfortably short but a tall person can definitely get used to shorter flatland frames too.  At my height, I wouldn't build a 19-19.5" Master to be an overall bike, but it definitely works as a flatland bike for me.
