2016 Custom Built Master
2016 Custom Built Master
The first of many in my Bonze Frankenstein collection. My version / vision of a(n) custom made new school 88.5 Haro Team Master frame.
Back in late 1988 I went to the local LBS to put a(n) 88.5 Haro Team Master on lay-away. The owner said he had none left and only had the 89.5 Team Master's in stock. I sold my 89.5 a few yrs ago. My hunt for an 88.5 has since past, due to what they cost and having a family takes precedence. The new Master's that Haro came out with are very nice, but the challenge to make my 88.5 was on. At one point I even had one of the 2009 Freestylers, it didn't suffice the craving though. I'm a fabricator, fitter, and welder by trade so I decided to set out and make my own. I started collecting parts, thinking of ideas, and picturing in my head what I wanted. After about 3 years of planning, and approx. another 4 years for the project completion it was finally done. Working on the project was intermittent and never consistent hence the time frame. Getting the pcs in place, finding the proper donor frames, and doing the actual build took some time.
A Haro Revo and Eastern Frame was used for this build.

The best kind of odd. Congrats on doing your own thing.
Is that set up with dual cables that go inside each top tube and drop directy to the brake arms from above? Could you post close-ups of this, please?
(I think)

Thank you sir that means a lot. I seen your GT, nice ride.
I did a 80s retro a while back with one of those frames.
I currently have a retro new school GT World Tour in the works as we speak. I figure I have a few more months on it though.
