Modern GT Retro "Superlace" Hubs

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/209614/2018gthubs59f491e2f1.jpg

"Superlace high flange hubs are coming! 36 hole, sealed bearing and the trick thing is that come out of the box with a 10mm (3/8") bolt set up with 16T cog (other sizes available from us) for Old School/Race use AND a 9T driver with 14mm adaptor bolts for modern freestyle use."

Re: Modern GT Retro "Superlace" Hubs

I thought that these would be a big deal around here - maybe the retro thing truly has peaked?
I wonder if they will do a freecoaster version that reminds us of the GT coaster brake?

Re: Modern GT Retro "Superlace" Hubs

They look great, it would have been nice to have them have alot of points of engagement or something. The 3 pawl setup works ok but is kinda sloppy feeling after running better hubs.

Re: Modern GT Retro "Superlace" Hubs

Nice! But I think you're right. I think the retro thing has peaked for most. Too bad GT didn't get hip to it a few years ago. Personally I still love it.

Re: Modern GT Retro "Superlace" Hubs

I really like that they come with a two piece and a one piece driver with female axles, this gives the most flexibility in use - 14mm frame, 3/8" frame, race gearing, freestyle gearing etc. It's pretty hard to find a setup this flexible outside of Profile which costs a fortune to actually have all the parts.

Nice as these hubs are,I'm willing to bet it will take some time for them to be released.GT seems to take forever with their products.

Re: Modern GT Retro "Superlace" Hubs

I'm sure there will be some demand for them, otherwise they wouldn't have considered releasing them, though I doubt they will fly off the shelves.

Re: Modern GT Retro "Superlace" Hubs

P.S... hubs don't deserve that 'superlace' name. The spoke holes are not staggered like the real superlaces.
