1977 Race Inc

Recently picked up this 77 Race Inc. from a childhood friend who has owned it since new. I admired this bike ever since he bought it, and was one of the very few in my neighborhood who owned one. He told me his Mom had a very limited budget so he wasnt able to get alot of the light weight race parts he really wanted. He made me promise that if he sold it to me I would build it in the manner he didnt have the budget to do so back then. I said it would me my pleasure, and an honor! here are a few pics to get the build thread going. Stay tuned

Re: 1977 Race Inc

these Suntour VX cranks are the same ones that were originally on the bike when new, but were broken in 79ish. these pedals are just temporary. Suntour's are on deck

Wow, that frame set is amazing, your friend took very good care of it! I am anxious to see what your plans for the build are! I do know its going to be pristine because that's the type of guy you are, one for close attention to details and era correctness!

Right!? it still blows my mind!! My friends mother recently passed away and while he was clearing out the property he found it deep in the garage hanging on a hook

Unbelievable condition on a beautiful blue survivor and those decals are crazy cool that they're still so nice looking.  You certainly have a good friend.  Thanks for sharing.

This is gonna be an amazing bike, I'm pretty sure. With that said, I'm a bit partial to Bullseye hubs on this one.

Super cool that is RAYSIN, and a good friend you have. Shame about his Ma, but cool that she hung to it all these years - always hearing of folks just ditching stuff once the kids fly the nest. a keeper for sure...  cool
