2017 GT Pro Performer 26

GT made up for the those Performers they released 5 years ago.

Full 4130, Superlace-esque hubs, mallet stem, pre-drilled holes for Gyro tabs, and GT logo tires. Pretty nimble as well. The toptube could be a little longer. The stock brakes weren’t that great so I swapped those out (common complaint on the 2017’s as well). I didn’t want to wear out the tires without being able to buy a replacement set so I shelved those for the DTH’s.

Re: 2017 GT Pro Performer 26

Did you add that odyssey gyro (detangler) and front brake?

As far as I know, the 2018 model comes just with pre-drilled holes for gyro tabs, so you can mount any gyro.
This in difference to the 2017 model (thus without such pre-drilled holes).
My 2017 model came stock with a (not pre-mounted) front brake, which was stored in an additional box together with a matching lever and cable inside the main parcel.
I think, that the 2018 model could have such an addition, too ;)

Re: 2017 GT Pro Performer 26

Yes, I added the Gyro. It was simple because of the pre-drilled holes. I also added the Potts mod stem bolt by replacing the star nut and bolt. I have since added a front brake (which wasn't included on mine) but haven't taken any pics yet.

Re: 2017 GT Pro Performer 26

I have the same bike and gyro. The problem is the gyro didn't come with the top plate and I am not sure which gyro top plate to buy. Will the Gyro 3 top plate work for this?  Thanks.

Why not?
The only error could be a non matching distance of the cable-holes of upper plate relating to the Gyro tabs at the steering tube.
I think that all Gyro upper plates for 1 1/8" steering tubes should have the same distance between these cable-holes, because the outer diameter of the 1 1/8" steering tubes should be always the same - as well as the distance between the mounted Gyro tabs.

I've used the upper plate of a NOS 1 1/8" Odyssey Gyro2, and it works fine (have had to drill the holes inside the steering tube by myself, because the tube was not pre-drilled on my 2017 model):

Re: 2017 GT Pro Performer 26

That is a great looking bike and I really like the skin walls on it. I wish I would’ve got this version instead... I have the 29” and for some idiotic reason, the used V-brakes on it which render the frame standing platform useless unless you wear a size 4 tennis shoe.
