1984 Diamond Back Pacer 500

My time machine

This is a replica of my childhood bike. I had a Viper in 83, but this is pretty close. I had Buff Z's on mine bitd, other than that this is pretty much identical. Parts list: Diamond Back f/f; bars: Redline STR; grips: Oakley B2; stem: Tuf Neck; brakes: Dia compe MX 900 f/r, 83 dated MTB levers, dated cables, pads; headset: Tange; seat: Uni Turbo; spc: Dia compe; drivetrain: crank/chainring/chainring bolts: Sugino, spider: Anlun; bottom bracket: Tange; chain: KMC; pedals: Victor VP 747 (80's); wheels/tires: ACS Z rims, Sunshine hubs, stainless spokes, black nipples; tires; IRC Super MX 8; Pads: California Lite; number plate: Haro Series One. Of all the bikes I own this one holds a place closest in my heart, and unlike the bike I had in the 80's, this one will NOT get stolen.

Re: 1984 Diamond Back Pacer 500

That is BEAUTIFUL!!! big_smilebig_smilebig_smile  You know if Diamond Back would have named this model/frame anything other than "pacer" it would have been a much more successful seller... GREAT bikes, just that name put a damper on sales... They should have named it the "Racer 500"... No kid in the 80's wanted a bike called a pacer, it reminded us all of pace car or even worse the AMC Pacer... All that aside, AWESOME build!!! A new fave... big_smilebig_smilebig_smile

44t BMX Club, "Midway Chapter"... Favortie bike:1983 Schwinn Predator... Schwinn, SuperCross, Free Agent, Anlun, Mongoose and Redline PL24 fan, as long as it's not a Hutch, I'll ride it... Predator owners show your PREDATOR LOVE and post your Predators here: http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=741107
Predator count: 31        420 for LIFE!!!
