2009 Deco Self-Titled

2009 Deco Self-Titled

Self Titled prototype frame, one of three.

Chad Degroot visited Pawtucket Rhode Island around 2009 or 2010 at Circuit BMX shop for a profile promo tour. At the time I was still riding my 2002 Volume Compton at 42 pounds or so and was finally willing to build up a new bike. I was talking to Chad who was a childhood hero of mine about possibly buying a DECO frame and he told me he would sell the prototype "sample" black 20.5" frame he had. At the time he was riding the 20" frame in grey, and I believe Mat Coplon was riding the raw one in 21". The frames were set up in the three lengths and colors they were being released in. The only real differences were that they did not have a serial number, or the DECO laser etched out of the chain stay bridge, and that there was no DECO badge brazed on the top tube. I basically built it up very similar to how chads bike was with the whole DECO and Profile catalogue.
