What a story! Glad you got the bike, definetlty cool.  I wonder how many times that guy sold that bike to others.  He might have made a killing off that sale.

We've remained in touch. I've been trying to offer advice on his personal struggles when he needs. I think that's what gained his trust initially and inevitably allowed this all to come to fruition. Power of positivity. I could have been a complete dick to him and justifiably so

The power of positivity. Exactly!

That's the secret to life in a nutshell. Either put your energy it acknowledging the bad, or embrace the good. You choose. Simple.

You're a good man Kurt.

Three thousand miles is all. I thought you Canadians were are hearty bunch tongue. That is only an oil change and an over night stay. Nice piece of detective work and persistence. Don't know or want to know anything about the  STREETBEATBEAST thread that was closed. Stick to the bikes and stick around. Your alright.  cool

I'm only here for the bikes and bros. No BS required. I've started 5 on topic threads since I've been back and submitted 25 new bikes with more to come. Doesn't mean I can't be me a little bit though either wink

I missed this one earlier. Way to not give up on it. Pretty cool and scary that you could start with only some limited information and use the internet and social media to track everything down. Most importantly that midschool Haro kicks ass. I can see why you persisted smile

Nice story, great ending. Glad it worked out! Hope the dude figures life out. For what it's worth, Francis Chan is a down to earth great speaker that offers good advice. He may want to check out some of his videos.

Re: A story about me, a midschool bike, theft, police, drugs.

Here's how my investigation shook down. After 6 weeks of radio silence I posted this ad back to where the original was placed and used the pic from the original ad

[url=http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/B7C3D49D-CFF3-4C4A-985D-E8B6F63B4190_zpshil661vi.png

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/3D8C15EA-DC41-423C-B180-469973BDC6C3_zpsbhkej5fq.png

The first response I received from "Mile" triggering me to get in touch with Shiznitme and learn about how he has been dragged though the mud and that this was not actually him

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/74FCA321-71F1-407D-BEC6-2AC14AAFBD92_zpskicihjkh.png

Second response to my ad. I now have another name and an address.

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/D29448E1-25E9-4640-9252-6A0E755106E2_zps7rqihfyb.png

Another ad on Facebook under this name. Same bike photo. I know the seller only as "Chris"

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/F8EDE70B-BE20-48D6-B644-5990C2AC2871_zpssyje68as.png

I took the address I was given and started Googling it. I was able to get a name and a phone number associated to that address. It was a Val. Not Chris or Kev.

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/9E72DB38-D502-4367-B628-83BF7EAACD9F_zpsk6gmnnm6.png

Her Facebook friends were publicly visible and what do you know...I found a Chris!

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/F020F520-0618-4AA8-A365-A6155F4745AC_zps1lm29isg.png

This is the crash pic he sent if his kid back when we first started talking about the sale in December and a pic from his profile. Winner winner chicken dinner

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/F6D59076-69DF-4097-A2B2-B0D5ABDA4A34_zpseoeixvla.jpg

Then I see a post on his wall that explains things a bit.

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc442/kurt_rad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/F0E43900-0392-4875-B35B-CA7B74C46DD9_zps8mdqpr5i.png

With the phone number I called. Spoke to Val who turns out to be his mom. He also saw my reply to the post on his page and responded to me via pm. Identity confirmed.

I guess the rest is history. Case closed.

Still searching for my missing bikes from BITD. 1979 Blue Max serial: CI9 221346 and 1977 Webco serial: 42667. Both were last seen at Spoke and Sport Bicycles in Spokane, WA around 1984. $600 reward if found!!

Partially. And partially about principle. Don't steal from me. Someone took my money and if the bank or police couldn't help me I would help myself. Even if I had to do it online from 3000 miles away. Don't effen eff with me or you'll get effed with...
