Re: 1982 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
Many thanks for comments, heres the before and after, the usual seat mast damage and previous owner "sandblasted" !!! it to get the 3 coats spraybomb off - damnit. Anyway very happy with finished product, peace.
Note found it with TRX forks but had unstamped LG in possession
the Ukai's were survivor so set about stripping and polishing them
I had 3 frames but chose the far left because serial number and sold others to help fund this project, note the seat post damage before and after

Re: 1982 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
Thought that seat repair was exquisite for a local engineer who I didnt know but highly recommended - whew! Anyway heres some more progress pics
Heres me sanding off the sandblast damage to smooth over - note the difference in shine effect? before and after
The Baby Blue paint was my own variation darkened to highlight parts more, 2-pack by PPG
was a labour of love and proud of finish

Re: 1982 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
Super detailed restoration!!! I have an 82 with a cracked mast....fixed with JB Weld..gotta clean it first, have it fixed and painted....I'm glad I read and saw the pics of your restoration process, knowing it's possible to fix frames like this is reassuring!!!
Thanks for sharing man!
