Trying to get this thing neighborhood ride friendly for the old lady. Uncut fork, 45° stem, big ol cushy seat. Mainly doing it so she can go with on this month's Mass ride.

Harp, I want to tell you something. I was in this bureau when you were still popping zits on your funny face and jerking off with the lingerie section of the sears catalog....

Hell naw!  Haven't made that jump yet, which probably just shows that I can't ride!  Still have the red Victor XC clones on it.  They look cool, but I don't really like how they feel on my feet.  I might swap then for the DK platforms I have on my Robinson Pro 24.

Re: Vintage mountain bikes.Whos gottem??

lol Maybe I'll reconsider once I start spending more time out on the trails.  Haven't gotten to that point yet.  BTW, is the time when we tell each other that we need to make plans to meet up at Big Marsh? lol

Re: Vintage mountain bikes.Whos gottem??

The story of this bike begins in the mid 90s. I searched a "romantic present" for my new girlfriend, so I bought this frame from a local frame builder:D It becomes one of my first presents to her. After that I gave her a part from time to time till all parts were collected - then I build it up (think this was late 90s). Since then about 20 years passed by, the girlfriend is today my wife and the bike is still in use. The bike is equipped with XTR M900 parts, which are legendary meanwhile. In the moment a LX crank is mounted at the bike, because the original XTR crank gets polished.
