1985 Redline RL-20ll

Original finish on all parts.  All of the same parts that were installed in the 80s except grips, chain, pads, handlebar stickers

I restored this bike for a friend.  It is his bike from bitd.  As you can see he swapped out many parts from the original bike.  It features profile cranks, pro-performer bars, and a coaster brake conversion to freewheel on the rear mag.

Re: 1985 Redline RL-20ll

How is it "all original" with all those parts replaced? Am I misunderstanding the term of all original? I'm not trying to be a dink but I see this a lot on this site.

Excuse me.  I need to edit the post and will change the language.  What I meant is that all of the parts are the original finish and it's all of the same parts that were put on the bike from back in the day.  In other words, I did not replace anything but the normal "wear and tear" parts----grips, chain, pads, and a few stickers on the bars and cranks.  The original owner had fun with this bike back in the 80s and like so many of us at that time, replaced parts as they broke or as they traded with other friends----hence the GT bars, etc.  So it's "original" to how it was bitd for the original owner.  I will change the language in the description.

Post edited for accuracy.  Wasn't trying to pull a fast one or be misleading.  Honest mistake with the language I chose to use.

Now I'm wonder if that's what people mean when using that term. I genuinely wasn't being a jerk. It's something that's used a lot here. I totally get the OG finish part too.

PS nice. RL20IIs are on my all time fav list.

Yeah, you're right.  "All original" is used a lot.  I'm sure a lot of people use it incorrectly.  I usually strip and refinish or have my bikes powdered.  For me I just meant that it's all original finish, as in unrestored paint, etc.  No worries, I knew what you meant.  I do try to be accurate and honest in my posts to maintain some integrity on this sight with regard to the bikes.  A lot of people use this site as a reference in their bike research so the more accurate people are, the better.
