Re: Pro size bars on a cruiser?

Cruiser bars. I'm not a fan of pro bars on a cruiser, just looks lame! For comfort I guess, but to me it throws the look off, like running cruiser bars on a 20 inch bike lol

Re: Pro size bars on a cruiser?

had a 26 gt bitd with gt pro bars, huge bike for a 14yr old. fast forward....
i have found that the expert size bars work well on my 24s, but run cruz bars on the bikes i ride a bit harder, or if im doing a "correct" build.
seems like dyno and powerlite experts are pretty well priced and avaliable, and work well.

Re: Pro size bars on a cruiser?

Yes it does put the geometry and "race'ability" off some. I would NOT race with expert or pro bars on a 24" or 26", as it does demenish the designed control feeling of the bike.

mmmm........loop tails.......

...and that's all I have to say about that...

S&M Bruiser bars. Reasonably cheap great chrome job. They feel just right. Bigger than normal cruiser bars. And dont look out of place, like in my opinion pro bars on a cruiser look. If that makes any sense.

Joe, that looks wicked!  For me, nothing says "That's Perron's bike" like S&M Slams or Race cruiser bars in 5.75".

Re: Pro size bars on a cruiser?

One advantage of using Pro sized bars on your cruiser is that you can have your stem the whole way down to eliminate stem flex. Also with the wide array of Pro bars that are out on the market, you have plenty of choices in the height to give you the right stance your looking for.

.
Stock Cruisers looks like a Chopper to me.
Against this background of course you have to swap them against a taller/higher version big_smile

Here's my 2012 GT Performer 26" with old school Performer bars - take a look.
Much more comfortably.
In addition I think that most of us searching for the "BMX-feeling and -look" on a Cruiser you can only have with taller bars... wink

I referenced Wald CW style bars on my Rand beach cruiser. It is so comfy.

Have you made a decision yet, Troy?  Also, your PM box is full.  I was trying to contact you about something earlier, but I got it taken care of.

Hey Troy. I threw a set of powerbends on my dyno nitro and love it.

I truly am surprised that more people don't run cruiser bars.  I guess I'm on my own! lol

I think I've made up my mind. Gonna start with pro bars anyway.

I just cleaned it out a couple weeks ago... I'm only 43% full.  Am I in trouble? big_smile
