Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

Let's discuss it here out of respect for Dom P

OK I was going to post this in the for sale thread where this discussion started but I think it's going to run way too long LOL

Here is my RL20II with Shocking Pink mags which match the decal font PERFECT ! (These were NOS with 0 discoloration going on

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y217/newguy1962/275884674_426ca20b5c_b.jpg

Pink agreed ?

And another set

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y217/newguy1962/67_1_b.jpg

Here is my Trick Star with what I was always lead to believe had Lavender

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y217/newguy1962/2008_0806Image0006.jpg

and just to show that they are not discolored I let the air out of my tires tongue

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y217/newguy1962/2008_0806Image0007.jpg

and here are Dom's wheels which are currently for sale and VERY hard to come by (act now in the for sale section of the site)

I believe these to be the original Radberry color

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y217/newguy1962/DSCN1855.jpg

Anyone else have an oppinion with pics to ad in this discussion ?

No arguing let's try to nail this down together

Here is the color bike that Redline offered as Radberry and the reasoning behind my opinion

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

Thanks Don smile That's means a lot to me

Should we post all the different colors in here or stay on track with the Radberry conversation ?

I have black, white, blue, turquoise, green, lavender, & shocking pink but I know that they made Yellow,Red, and I've hear about Glow in the dark (but I've also hear about Bigfoot and Unicorns) tongue

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

yeah, when you're not seeing them all together like this it's easy to get them mixed up. i got  a set of radberry ones here thinking they were lavender.  oh well.  thanks for posting this for reference Endo.

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

Woah..  that PTR is Awesome.. those look like Radberry to me.
Not really Pink or Lavender.

It might just be the photo contrast. but Dom's still look like Shocking pink to me.
(Especially compared to the ones on the PTR)

Another orphan Shocking Pink on the Kuwi.

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

Looks like some of the "Radberry" painted Redlines came Stock with Lavender mags as well. I've seen it too often for it to be a customization by the bike owners.  (which is probably what causes some confusion... the factory)

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

Yeah but those look super faded so it's hard to determine what they looked like when new and if you look at the mags on my TS where you can see the tire bead you'll notice that there is NO fading going on

I personally think that the Radberry mags were a color that's pretty much in between the Lavender on my TS and the Pink on my RL

Look at the ad with the Radberry bike and mags (You know they weren't faded in 1986 when the ad was printed

I don't doubt for a second that the radberry mags look Lavender when they fad but I think that Peregrine offered Pink,Radberry and Lavender

maybe it's just me ?

Matt why don't you come over tonight and we'll Wrestle and whoever wins is RIGHT

I would consider this teal, or seafoam, not sure what they called it, I will go grab a magazine or two and see what I can find.

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

Your right you could call them either color but yeah Peregrine used to advertise them as Turquoise

Cool Mags Mo

and this is the color they would advertise as Blue

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

Even on the Radberry RL 20 ad they look like lavender to me.
The PTR's mags look like Radberry to me
and....Dom's look like Shocking Pink to me.

Radberry=Tough Debate

Also.....Crash's mags look to be a light teal color; not like the Turquiose. Those look sweet TOO!!!

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

there it seems are two levels of mags, if they are NOT stamped graphite then they are the SPORT mag.

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

I thought they also had orange but maybe that was just a picture I'd seen of Hazard Yellow?

I get this question often so here it is to save everyone time. I do not have any Mongoose DMC decals left. I was lucky enough to find a small bunch of NOS decal sets in an old bike shop that no longer exists and I have since sold them all. Sorry. I wish you all the best of luck with your DMC builds.

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

Another question,  Who made the wheels that look like peregrine but have the reflector tabs?
I almost want to say that my original peregrines came with reflectors and that I cut them off but it was so long ago I am most likely mistaken.

Ah hell, I can't remember.

Re: Peregrine Mag colors.... shall we ?

OGK Made manufactured Peregrine Mags. (As well as Hutch and early GT Mags)

The also released the same design mags - with out other company's branding on them too. The OGK versions of the Peregrine design had a few small differences, but were overall the same wheel design. One of these differences was the inclusion of Reflector tabs. On most Peregrines, you can see where they've been shaved off at the factory.
