1999 Redline FS 880

RL 20ii Tribute.

First saw one of these here on the Museum and fell in love with it.I knew then I would have to build one of these beauties.
Living in Australia there were none to be found so I sourced the frame set from the U.S.A. and had it shipped over. The frame started off chrome and I had it painted by a well known BMX bloke here in Oz named Pete Maggs from MADMANS BMX PAINTING.He did a showroom job on this bike. The bars ,pedals ,stem ,brakes, gyro and chainwheel were bought from the States and the rest from here in Oz.The decals were custom made and the RL plate too. This build took a little over a year to finish and came up better than I expected. Hope you guy's love it as much as I do.

Nice job, looks great! I love these newer RL FS880s, and 860s. Although not as nice looking, they are a much cheaper alternative to the sweet RL20ii.

I  built my 88 RL20ii first which cost alot and kept me broke but I  agree that building the FS880 was a lot more cheaper and I love the twist of modern and old parts on this ride.

Absolutely amazing build. Best retro ever! What kind of stem did you use?

Re: 1999 Redline FS 880

Hi,
The stem I used was a Thompson X. Which was purchased from the U.S.A.
Cheers Stewie.
